Well, I thought he did a fine job and was even better in From Dusk Till Dawn. Hey, if he can cut it, all the more power to him.

I didn't...he should stay behind the camera, where his talent can be put to best use. In front of the camera, he's just too irritating, plus he looks like what would happen if Rondo Hatton and Jerry Lewis conceived a child together.

At this rate, I fully expect Mark Curry and Sinbad to round out the cast

There's still plenty of time for Mark Curry and Sinbad to be signed up...they're probably holding out for more money, more dialogue, or bigger trailers or something. You know, being the big stars that they are and all.

Isn't it about time the film gets it's own thread? Or did I miss something in the new rules posted earlier this week.

It will probably get one eventually. We're going to try to hold off on creating new threads until films are actually shooting. Often, films in pre-production fall apart at the last minute. Generally, the "New Films in Production" thread would be the place to discuss developing films, but since QT has his own thread, this is fine. If this does actually get made, I'll be sure to include all of these posts in the new thread. Here's what I wrote about this in the guidelines:
In general, only films that are well into the production process should receive new topics. If you know that the film has begun principal photography or is in post-production and has a scheduled release date, start a new topic. Films that are in earlier stages of production (casting, pre-production, announcements in the trades) should be discussed here. Films which are simply rumored or "possible" should not be discussed until more concrete information is available.

Whether or not this gets made will be contingent on Brad Pitt not dropping out at the last minute.

Off the top of my head, Pitt has helped to destroy the first incarnation of The Fountain and the only incarnation of To the White Sea.

He most recently dropped out of Kevin MacDonald's State of Play a week after it was supposed to start filming.

Although to be fair, studio interest in a mostly silent film with a single lead character wandering around after his plane crashes was minimal at best even with Pitt in the lead.

It's kind of ridiculous. Though he didn't speak often, Pitt's character was involved in tons of sneaking and action. In one scene he even fights an old, blind samurai.

When you think about it, it's not different from any other action movie a studio would usually bank on, except the action has meaning and lacks snappy one-liners and random exposition.

Maybe this will be Tarantino's Southland Tales.

Wasn't Adam Sandler rumored for the cast at one point? Maybe he could nab the entire cast of Superbad, too. I bet Steven Seagal and Jean-Claude Van Damme are available as well. I wonder who gets to play Hitler?

The article Domino linked to says that Sandler isn't available, right in the headline.

Well, to be fair, the Myers role supposedly signed for is, if the script is to be believed, quite brief.
I'm far more worried as to who will Quentin cast as Hitler and Churchill. You'd think he'd go with lookalikes but there's no telling what he'll do.

Also. I assume the role Sandler wasn't available for is the one that went out to Eli Roth. Anybody confirm or deny?
