Having read too many interviews on/with Ms. Grey, I can wholeheartedly vouch for her empty-headed notion of film culture vis a vis Soderbergh's own perpetuated mythos of filmmaking/whatever. And thank you, antoine, for not linking to any adult industry site, all of whom are tizzying out over this news as if the film's going to be released on December 21, 2012 (technically a Wednesday, but that's Soderbergh for ya!).

Not to my knowledge, but Peter Hyams, director of the original Star Chamber, is directing another film noir remake. A remake of a Fritz Langs Beyond a Reasonable Doubt. Starring Michael Douglas, this film is already in post-production. Anyone here familiar with Lang´s original? Or Peter Hyams last noir remake, Narrow Margin? I have no idea what to expect from this.flyonthewall2983 wrote:Has there been any articles about the upcoming (according to IMDB, anyway) remake of The Star Chamber?

I haven't seen Narrow Margin, but I'm familiar with some of his other stuff namely 2010. He uses natural light pretty much all the time which gives his stuff a pretty unique look, compared to other genre directors. That style certainly fit the original Star Chamber. I watched the original a few days ago and though I liked it, I can see how a remake could probably outmatch the original in terms of expanding the story a bit.

Paul Worthless Shit Anderson penning the remake of The Long Good Friday, with Miami as backdrop. I'm betting it has zombies and his wife blowing stuff with a huge machine gun.

God, I thought you meant Paul Thomas Anderson for a second there! Phew!!! I originally processed it as The Long Goodbye, and thought it might not be so crazy, with him being a big Altman fan (although I suppose that'd make it more crazy in some ways).
But then I came to the sad realisation that there exist a Paul Anderson that comes from my neck of the woods and who corresponds to your apt title.

Sounds cool but I thought the horror film he was referring to was his Suspiria remake. If you check out IMDbPro, he's got a bunch of projects lined up. It remains to be seen which one he'll actually do next. But good for him. If not for Pineapple Express, which was not only hugely more successful than Snow Angels but a much better film, his career might have been in serious trouble.Antoine Doinel wrote:David Gordon Green to direct an adaption of Freaks Of The Heartland.
