I would call her out on her Revolutionary Road win as well. She was terrible in that movie!

Heath was part of last year's montage of the dead, so he'll be spared this one last indignity.Antoine Doinel wrote:Heath Ledger and Queen Latifah: together at last.

Here's the Oscar trailer directed by John Singleton. Anyone have any idea what "celebrate the movies that celebrate the times" means?

This ad acknowledges that the only way we're going to pay attention this year is if a giant Oscar attacks us from space.

Re: Awards Season 2008
It's a shame that the idiot producers at helm of this award show still don't understand that we want to see the original performers of the nominated songs perform. We didn't want Beyonce singing all the songs and certainly didn't want Enchanted almost replaying the movie in last's year broadcast. Why now is it that they would not let Peter Gabriel and the rest of the performers do their entire piece. Imbeciles.Antoine Doinel wrote:Peter Gabriel pulls out of the awards show.

Re: Awards Season 2008
How depressing that such a flashy, empty director like Boyle is a shoo-in.

Re: Awards Season 2008
The flash isn't always empty. It mostly was this time though. Trust the Academy to reward him for it. Oh well.

I think the real question is: Will Ed Harris clap for Jerry Lewis?

Foreign Film Oscars have often gone to unknown quantities, but I'd be surprised if that happens this year.

The list is correct on the 6 major awards. Looking over the remainder just convinced me that I don't need to watch the show. ](*,)

I'm pretty sure Mickey Rourke just gave the best speech in award show history at the Independent Spirits.
