coming to Blu Ray this May
along with Fargo, and Force 10 from Navarone.
I am very excited for this though I wish it was the trilogy.

Why would they release this on its own and not a Blu-ray version of the Leone box? You'd have to be a huge fan or a major sucker to buy a stand-alone release knowing that a complete trilogy (or trilogy +) is probably just around the corner.
I hope the transfer is better than those of the earlier films in the trilogy they've been showing on HDNET Movies. Very unimpressive.

They did the same thing with the remastered editions (not the initial DVDs) of these films on DVD around 2005. They released TGTB&TU, then the Leone trilogy a year or two later. Very annoying.
Have the versions they have shown been remastered in HD?

I assume they are the HD masters made for the Leone set, which look fine on the DVDs but are flat, muddy, and noisy in 1080i.aox wrote:Have the versions they have shown been remastered in HD?

Re: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
They seem to have done a new HD master for TGTB&TU -- the version that's been showing on HDNet over the past year or so is supposedly a marked improvement over earlier HDNet broadcasts -- so maybe they've revisited the earlier titles as well.
