Oh fucking hell. And I LOVE Amanda Seyfried (even though between this, Mamma Mia and Diablo Cody's lastest film its going to get tough to defend her). Fingers crossed that Watchmen flops so Snyder can just fade into obscurity. I say he's more offensive than Bay because he's hyped up by fanboys and morons like he's some kind of groundbreaking visual genius when its all just regurgitated banal video game aesthetics.

Colonel Mustard in the library with the lead pipe

Board game movie fever begins with Gore Verbinski's Clue. I expect that this will be an original take on the material, rather than a remake of the 1985 film.

The article states that he is also going to direct Bioshock. I've been playing the game in my PS3 and it's has great 1950's look and really entertaining, but I'm sure the studio only wants to showcase the game's gore and it will become another Paul WS Anderson-like film.

Neal H. Moritz, producer of too many horrible films to mention here, plans to remake Total Recall. I can't understand why you'd want to remake a perfect film that's less than 20 years old, but then I'm not Neal H. Moritz, am I?

It's pretty hilarious that Moritz' production shingle is called Original Films when he almost exclusively produces remakes and sequels.

This news makes me feel old, born the same year. As long as they go by a different title and explore different avenues of the first film I'm alright. But considering his past films I doubt it.

I saw it in the theater. When I was in college. And I'm a spring chicken compared to some of the geezers on this forum.

I know, just hate the idea that I'm old even in the tiniest sense.

On a related note I came across the date of The Osbournes show - 2002. That was a slap in the face. I didn't think seven years flew by that quickly.

Eddie Murphy is slated to play Richard Pryor in a biopic about his life. No word yet if he'll play fifteen characters, wear fat suits or talk to CGI animals. Bill Condon is attached to direct. Spike Lee currently has no comment.

Kevin Smith heads over to WB for his next film, the pathetically titled Couple Of Dicks, and it will star Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan.

And remember the movie version of Monopoly? It's still happening.

Mark Romanek's next film is an adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go. Keira Knightley is slated to star. Let's just hope it's better than The Island.

The mere fact that they are calling this a thriller tells me it will be terrible. Ishiguro's book is one of my favorites and the story is as far from thriller-territory as one is likely to get. Pass.

I read the book too, but didn't particularly like it, so I think a film adaptation could work. The fact that it's being handled by Romanek at least ensures that, if anything, it'll look great.

I'd much rather see Knightly in a remake of the Gene Tierney/Clark Gable pic Never Let Me Go

Alexander Payne's next film is a comedy about a guy who decides to undergo surgery to shrink himself when he becomes convinced that it will drastically improve his life. Paul Giamatti, Reese Witherspoon and Sacha Baron Cohen are slated to star.
