I don't think you get it Matt--THE THING IS IN 3D. I mean, it has like a spine and everything. I don't think any of us saw that coming. :P

You're right. I should change my carping comment to simply this: =P~

P.S. How many people on this forum do you think want to murder me right now because they think new covers are being posted?

I've said it before and I'll say it again: One of my favorite parts of the board is when people post in this thread in the middle of the month

You mean this thread, in the middle of this month? Ah yes, good point sir. I shall have to keep my posts here down to a mere two or three for the remainder of the afternoon.

A tenner says Criterion can't be fucked and has gone home for the weekend.

They are being so evil this month. I can't wait to see what the My Dinner with Andre cover looks like.

Jeez, the only thing that that's representative of is maybe the short overexposed sequence. Disappointing, IMO.

And of course they didn't use Rialto's fantastic poster, but I like it if the text is embossed. Curious to see if this is as polarizing as Breathless.

Edit: Could they perhaps have found a more flattering still of Bergman?

I'd have to see it in the flesh, but for now: worst cover ever.

Marienbad is inexplicably bad, especially in light of the existence of the consensus-awesome Rialto poster. Here's hoping that the packaging redeems it all, as was the case with the aforementioned Breathless.

And that Bergman photo! Oh dear lord!

This almost makes up for Marienbad.

It looks like it might be embossed.

Edit: The Marienbad cover, not Max Von Sydow's face.

It really doesn`t (for me at least). Even though the Seventh Seal cover is great, the Marienbad is way too bad and simple, so much so that it can never be made up for. Not even if the cover is embossed.

I don't know why, but I'm picturing some sort of Chris Ware-type cover for My Dinner With Andre. Pure speculation/hope/anything to get my mind off the unqualified disaster of Marienbad's cover

There's no way that Marienbad cover is final. It'll change.
