I don't know about how bad that one is - it perfectly represents Night of the Comet! I love the film, from the Day Of The Triffid style opening (although people are turned into piles of dust rather than just blind!) to the Omega Man style zombie mutants and eventually ending up in the secret government bunker it manages to somehow make the end of the world into a fun romp without ever disregarding the darker side of the situation. It is just that the two protagonists are teenage girls so they don't dwell on the darker elements too much! The film even manages to update Dawn of the Dead's shopping mall consumerism for the 1980s at the same time as fulfilling the requirement of a comic musical montage scene that at one time seemed mandatory for all 80s films to include!

This is a fun movie--saw this in the cinema when it came out. Never forget the line from the pouty blonde: "Wish dad were here. He would've gotten us Uzi's." --Strangely I don't quite recall them getting a hold of Uzi's as in the picture or the older sister actually becoming a zombie as it would appear by the cover.

I dunno, it's pretty good considering what a crappy title they have to work with.

Maybe if you were to crop out Duchovny...

It conveys well enough how the show is about Duchovny's libido and... I think that's it.

There's something to be said about a DVD cover that defies the laws of taste, design and physics simultaneously.
But I'm not going to be the one to say it. Nope.

Good find Domino. Something about that cover is mesmerizing. I've been staring at it for 15 minutes trying to figure out if that dude and dog are wearing footballs on their heads? I am almost convinced that I need to watch the film (or at least the trailer) to find out why they're wearing footballs for hats and why the others in the picture are not.

Or maybe I'm just stoned...

I believe you can actually buy that very two-piece at Juicy Couture.

I like how they don't trust that the visual layout will lead your eyes to her hot pink mini-skirt, so they decided to write some inane copy on her flat bottom butt as well.

It's rather tacky to have the weirdly suggestive keg plunger right next to her rear. And what is the toilet paper doing off to the left?
I'd be pretty disappointed if the film isn't loaded with fart jokes and anal sex references.

That visual design doesn't lead anywhere ... except maybe to madness.

I'm still wondering what is so fascinating about her front that both guys(and the dog I guess) are totally surprised. perhaps a battleship tattooed across her chest or a second belly button.

Thanks alot Domino. Now I've blown another 15 minutes on "Kicking The Dog"'s awful website, watched the awful trailer, and read the FAQ. Still no explanation on the football hats (not shown in the trailer, neither was the dog!). But after the cover art, and experiencing the trailer, #3 on the FAQ seems a little redundant.

Lemmy, you are either a psychic or watched the trailer previous to your posting. :)

But man, these fucking football hats are driving me crazy... ](*,)

I'm glad the FAQ finally cleared up my questions about the director's parents' house.

I just saw the trailer and can't believe that Gary Oldman was involved in this. This looks like a fake movie trailer.

I remember back in the day when they would at least make the slightest attempt to make it look like the cast were present at the same photo shoot. Good to see they finally outgrew that inconvenient conceit and gave amateur junior college photoshop students the opportunity to flex their deficient skills.

A little off topic, but I love how the makers of this music video seem to have taken their inspiration from bad DVD covers.

I saw this is in an independent bookstore today and to compound the weirdness, it also had a sticker in the right corner that said the package included a bonus CD of 80s songs including INXS and Erasure.
