I intended to list titles Warner released in U.K. that are still unavailable in region 1. I don't mean titles they released from Studio Canal - their own property Warner owns in region 1. So far, there was one release that I know of and one more is coming in May.

3 Godfathers
Dive Bomber

Are there anything else?

If it can be counted as a Warner Classic; "Stanza del figlio" is only available through r4 NTSC brasilian edition.

As for the Ford titles I think they are planning to release those films in their Ford/Wayne and Clark Gable sets due next year. This is good because no one will double dip on these titles. I look forward to these being released. Same goes for Dive Bomber.

So far, Dive Bomber remains unreleased in region 1. Other films released in UK on DVD are Keeper of the Flame (in Hepburn/Tracy boxset) and a few Doris Day films in a boxset exclusive to HMV stores - By the Light of the Silvery Moon, Lucky Me, On Moonlight Bay, Tea for Two, and April in Paris.

In France, Party Girl, Phantom of the Rue Morgue, The Picture of Dorian Gray and Lafayette Escadrille were released on DVD under Légendes du cinéma banner.

Looking at Gary's caps of the R2 Warner PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY, I was shocked to see that
1) Jude Law

Image,

and

2) Liam Neeson

are in the 1945 film.

Differences between Region 1 and Region 2 box sets

#10 Post by jamie_summers »

I know that a lot of the region 2 versions of the Warner classic box sets are missing films or features, but was curious whether anybody had a list of these differences or knew which ones of the region 2 sets are the same as their region 1 counterparts?

thanks in advance!

It has to do with rights.
I might be mistaking, but I Think that all the RKO pictures are missing from the region 2 box set. This is because universal got the rights for RKO pictures in europe.
