Absolutely incredible: I never thought I'd live to see the day that Drive He Said and A Safe Place would get a legit home video release. Supposedly, back in the early '90s, Henry Jaglom had so despaired of getting Sony to put A Safe Place out on VHS that he deposited bootleg copies at several L.A. video rental stores himself.

DVD release of the year, assuming they don't screw it up somehow. Now, where's Husbands?

So will the Last Picture Show be the same release that has been around and was re-released with Nickelodeon or will it be a new transfer with additional extras?

The Sony guy said in the other thread that it'd be the new disc from the double-feature

What I'd really like to know is how HEAD will be handled. Bare-bones, copy of Rhino, or something else?

Terrence Malick fans, take note: DRIVE, HE SAID is an early T.M. rewrite job.

Funny, TIME magazine featured a blurb on it in a recent issue and you still can't get it anywhere. :?

Sony (or, at least, its insiders who post on boards like this) have been optimistic in the past about the time frame on releases like this. So I'm maintaining some optimism that this has just been delayed into next year (a la the second film noir set) rather than cancelled. Pulling the rug out from under us on a film as elusive as Drive, He Said would be beyond cruel.
