Isn't Keanu doing a J/H film himself?

"EXCLUSIVE: Kevin Smith Making Hockey Movie With Mitch Albom Based On Warren Zevon Song ‘Hit Somebody’"

I hope he casts Letterman in a role.

Yeah, there are actually about three different J/H projects currently in development in Hollywood.

Sir Ridley Scott and Anthony Hopkins are getting ready to waste everyone's time with another Hannibal Lecter film. Cate Blanchett is in talks to play Clarice Starling.

I heard about this. I just saw a poster last night at a theater for The Green Scent of Papaya, which reminded me of the fact that I still need to see a movie by Tran Anh Hung (I'll probably start with Cyclo). And while I haven't read "Norweigan Wood", I love "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle", and Rinko Kikuchi was surely the best part of the otherwise lame Babel.

If you can, watch The Scent of Green Papaya. Cyclo isn't nearly as good.

The film itself isn't really news (I mentioned it last August) but it's nice to see an update on progress. Still waiting on I Come With the Rain, of course. :-k

Yep, it's done and is opening in Japan on June 6th though no other release dates have been announced. Here's the Japanese trailer.

Tran Ahn Hung is one of my favorite filmmakers, and I think Cyclo is his best.
Just based on the trailer, I Come With the Rain does not look like it contains the subtly and quiet beauty that has made his previous work so great.
I'm really hoping its just the trailer that sucks.

Let the cast guessing game begin. I'll start: DiCaprio!
Guess again.

An insider tells Britain's Daily Star, "Jamie would seem to be born to the role. Magnificent voice, convincing acting ability - like Frank himself - born the wrong side of the tracks, makes it big against all odds, has his brush with authority. The guy's a gift."
Hmmm... I can think of one thing he's missing...

Seriously though, no way any studio would approve Foxx. Unfortunate, but such a move would be tantamount to cutting the film's entire core audience loose.

That link is hilarious. The Daily Star? Yeah, an "insider" told me that Will Smith is up for the Abe Lincoln role in Spielberg's biopic too. ](*,)

According the the Variety story, the actor playing Sinatra doesn't need to sing (as they negotiated use of Sinatra's original recordings) so I would assume Timberlake and Foxx are waste-of-time internet rumors.

Hahahahah oh man
Hot Japanese director Sion Sono is set to make his English-language debut with Lords Of Chaos, about Norway's black metal music scene, which has Twilight's Jackson Rathbone lined up to star.

I always wanted to adapt "Lords of Chaos" into a motion picture, but was afraid that some Norwegian death-metaller would hunt me down and make me a human sacrifice. And could it be better than this documentary? (PS: Has anyone seen this doc?)

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but Kevin Spacey is Twittering about work on his film about Jack Abramoff, Casino Jack. Here's one of my favorites, from yesterday:
Back in the make up chair. Gorgeous day. On set in a while. I get to go crazy today & destroy my office. Hope I don't hurt myself. Later7:08 AM May 25th from web

Bong Joon-ho, whose latest feature Mother was by all accounts a hit in Cannes, is working on an adaptation of the French dystopian comic Le Transperceneige, slated for a 2011 release. This will be produced by Park Chan-wook, who has had some Cannes success of his own. This has been mooted for at least three years now, but seems to be inching closer to reality. Al Pacino is in talks to play Jack Kevorkian in a HBO film biopic called ------ wait for it ----- You Don't Know Jack.

I guess no one remembers the popular computer quiz game that became a short lived game show?

I still play You Don't Know Jack. And I still listen to the CD of skits/funnies that came with one of the games.
