Silence de la mer is interesting, but not magnificent. Too bad i own it already, the only interesting bundle is the Pialat films, but then again i own Police! #-o

It could be excellent and I still wouldn't really care. I've only got into films and can only afford to purchase films that are related to my studies (German/Italian).

Oh now, that's tempting. 7 pounds for "24 eyes". I have seen Kinoshita's film at the Berlin International Film Festival some years ago, when Shochiku was awarded with a special prize. I went there after I had fallen asleep trying to see Sokurov's foolish "The Sun" through and thought that they had to carry me out of that in this case rather small cinema as I had seen enough moving pictures that day. But inspite of all the prominence, the crying and the howling and the constant wallowing in self-pity on-screen, it became a beautiful screening.

Ah, I already own 4 of the Pialats (just not L'enfance nue). Damn, what a great price. Picked up General Idi Amin Dada, Francesco giullare di Dio, The Savage Innocents, and the Lang/Lang/Melville 3-pack.

Same here, I'd order the Lang's, but I don't need another copy of Silence de la mer. I may order Savage Innocents, I have to check my fundage as I'm saving up for a home theater upgrade. I did order Humanity and Paper Balloons, I have all of the other single discs.

I have the Langs but not "Silence de la Mer", which I would dearly like. If anyone gets it and wants to trade, drop me a PM.

Here's perhaps a wildass idea: I have 3 of the Pialats (Police, Gueulle Ouverte, L'Enfance-nue), very much want the other two, especially at this price. If anyone wants the above three I can order the set and send these by mail--I'm in the US--for cost plus postage.

Need to know pretty quick, PM me if interested.

And, I'll look at the related thread, but anyone have anything to say about Francesco?

Thanks.

Nothing but praise from me. I watched the MoC disk last week and it's truly a wonderful wonderful film and a great transfer

Did anyone else, like me, buy La guele ouverte before Christmas! I have emailed Eureka about whether they will let me have the remaining titles for the balance. Waiting to hear back...

They did me an offer on something similar, although I couldn't use the invoice they sent me due to my Paypal account not recognising that "...@gmail..." and "...@googlemail..." are the same thing, so I had to manually purchase stuff and make a note for them which I'm hoping they'll confirm that they've seen.

If anyone bought LGO before Christmas and wants the PIALAT bundle I have 2 offers for you, the Pialat titles in the bundle work out at £8 each so you can either:

A. have the bundle - minus LGO - for the price advertised on the site, less £8
or
B. choose 2 of the £6.99 MoC titles for £4 - so the 4 remaining Pialat titles plus 2 of the £6.99 MoCs would total £36.

Don't worry if it's past midnight GMT, I'll honor this offer until the 7th Jan - 2 conditions - You have to be a registered Criterion forums member with at least 10 posts (don't spam the boards! I'll contact the Admins If I see anything that looks like someone registering and posting just to get this offer) to qualify. Secondly you HAVE to have bought LGO in the Christmas sale directly from us - please include the PayPal transaction ID in your email - if you ordered it from anyone else Amazon etc you are not eligible.

Hope that makes sense?

If you did buy LGO and want to take up this offer email me and I'll sort it out for you - [email protected]

Kevin and/or Nick, any chances that MoC's Blu-Rays will be added to future sales? I'm going to buy a BR player in April and want to get Soul Power and Sunrise. Sunrise especially I'd rather buy at a discount since I already bought Eureka's original DVD and both MoC SD versions.

They were both in the Christmas sale.

P.S. I'm hoping for an M Blu-ray preorder special :P

Sale's still going...

I can either spend the next 20 mins taking it down or... leave it until I get to work in the morning. So, I've decided to leave it until I get to work in the morning. Time to get your last minute orders in!

Thanks for your attractive sale, Kevin.
I bought the Pialat bundle this time. Can you say anything on the future plans of Eureka/MoC in regard to distribution?

Surely there are plenty of people out there (like me) who prefer to buy directly from you in order to support your work and to save the retail sales margin.
But whats the opinion of mass retailers on your sales (especially on the fact that your prices are lower)?

Are you planning an online store like Criterion?
Price cuts can be signal of a thin liquid base and financial trouble - I hope thats not the case with MoC!
And can you tell us how successful the last 2 sales were?

Best from Germany,
Mozart

I hope these sales carry on regularly, I too much prefer buying from you guys and the prices mean I can buy more! Couldn't afford the Pialat bundle at this time... I hope there'll be another in the future!

I ordered the Classics of German Cinema set from the Eureka website at the start of December. Just got around to watching Asphalt tonight and I'm missing the booklet. Should I have had one? I assume it wasn't ditched when these titles were boxed together...?

Mine didn't have a booklet either, i think they removed it because the other titles didn't have one...
