Re: Criterion Web Site
Could the feather have anything to do with Ford?
I assume Hotel is either the Akerman or perhaps Carne.

Are you sure you're not thinking of 2001?Fierias wrote:I thought the giant baby = Solaris. Upgrade to blu, perhaps?
I think Hôtel du Nord is actually a pretty reasonable guess, although there were no previous rumors.justeleblanc wrote:I assume Hotel is either the Akerman or perhaps Carne.

I think the "Hotel sign" is for Vivre sa Vie. The Janus poster helps that cause.

Have to reoffer SUN SHINES BRIGHT, if Ford is in the frame, this rare OOP VHS no DVD title highlighted by Rosenbaum as scandalously unavailable, however feather might imply deluxe edition of WEE WILLIE WINKIE!... Neither actually seem impossible...

Yeah that's the only thing I can think of for a hotel sign. I was just looking at the poster (which is amazing) and it came to me. I see you listed almost everything on the picture. But I am still confused to the pitcher, feather, the thing on the ground beside the signs and the Idlewild sign.Jeff wrote:Aha. Hey Guys,
Ryan from CriterionCast here.
I just uploaded the image to our Facebook page, and began tagging the films/images within.
Feel free to tag any of the films that I missed. Hopefully this will help determine all of the ones we can't figure out.
Thanks for checking it out!

Re: Criterion Web Site
Sacrifice is still Kino, they are working on a Blu for 2010.
I also really like the weird shape next to the sign being the bowl from Summer Hours. Does anyone have a screen shot to confirm this?
And for what it's worth, Idlewild was the original name of JFK airport, and according to wikipedia Ang Lee's Wedding Banquet (which I haven't seen) takes place there. I'm guessing this is a stretch.
Feather?... or did someone mention Quills?

People are saying that the Baby could be "Colossal Youth" and by the title and the fact that the baby is huge in the pic, it's right.

That object looks like one of those fixed binoculars/telescopes, put a coin in and you can see, top of the Empire State etc,. in Hitchcock somewhere I have lodged in my memory...

Re: Criterion Web Site
It looks like the white feather does in fact refer to The Four Feathers.

Now, if only we can figure out that friggin pitcher/carafe/juice/milk/water/drink/jug?

We also still need weird sweater/hair/face guy from the motorcycle. He does not appear to be related to Ride with the Devil, M, or Close-Up.Cosmo Vitelli wrote:So I guess we still need:

haha, I thought it was Ang Lee.
okay so if the feather is Four Feathers (which Four Feathers, the 1939 one or the Heath Ledger one?), we need the guy from the motorcycle, the Idlewild sign, and the pitcher.
Off-topic, I hope some of these pictures will come out in blu-ray that isn't in the color blue (Vivre sa vie being one that I want in blu.).
