In short, no. I am pretty sure AE have the rights still, they last issued the film for it's 75th Anniversary I believe, though unfortunately the theatrical release was never followed by a DVD so UK buyers have never had the chance to see a DVD. Senseless really as I am sure there are loads of people who do not import DVDs so this would be a big seller. I imagine there must be some problems we don't know about. See here for the UK public domain discussion.

Michael is right, i forgot the 80 year copyright concerns the death of the creator and not the date it was made.

Could we at least have a clue that brings us down from a global level? Is it an English language title or a mainland European film or a film from the Far East for example?

Yoshida boxset - Complete works. Pretty please.

Nick's probably messing with us. He'll announce a Yoshida Comedies collection.

I think you'll be able to see them regardless of whether or not you are logged into your account.

I'm just curious as to how obvious these screen captures are going to be.

I can't be bothered to check this thread with any regularity. Can you please come to my house and lay copies of the screen grabs on my table for me?

Your sarcasm is so imaginative and hilarious at the same time, keep it up! Anyway, if Nick doesn't have the time, i am sure one of our thoughtful and helpful members will perform the task.

This is going to be rock hard -- and it's designed to be. Really hoping no-one gets it so that I have to put up a second screengrab!

DVD, I'm assuming.
Looks like late '20s/early '30s from Europe or America.
