Well brava for attempting to address the gender imbalance, but - Liliana Cavani?Awesome Welles wrote:Angela Ismailos' Great Directors to be released in Spring.Screen Daily wrote:The film celebrates cinema through the eyes of ten of the word’s most acclaimed living directors and premiered at Venice last autumn.

Well, Cavani certainly is a Great Director and she's long overdue for a proper reappraisal but it is still surprising to see her receive it.

This sounds like cause to go out for some orange mocha frappuccinos! Who wants to ride with me to the gas station to get them?

If there was some way to wrangle Mugatu into this one, I'd be first in line. For now though, I'll continue to eye it with a good deal of suspicion.

So it looks like Cronenberg's The Talking Cure is a go to start shooting in May with Viggo signing on as Freud (replacing Christoph Waltz, who dropped out).

I love the Viggo, but boooo... This was Waltz big chance to avoid typecasting.

Re: New Films in Production
Wasn't there a rumor going around last year about Cronenberg remaking his remake of The Fly, as well? Am I just making that up? Pipe dreams?--either way, I'd probably have more faith in that ill-conceived project than any of the ones above...panicprevention wrote:speaking of Cronenberg.. I am willing to guarantee that this is a Scientology issue, and that Anderson may not be able to get any major studio to distribute this film. I just hope he gets the budget he needs and doesn't have to cut corners to make it happen, as his films are always boosted by the level of detail and quality employed in the set design. Oh, and the Renner rumor? Awesome.Foam wrote:Not anymore.flyonthewall2983 wrote:Paul Thomas Anderson's next (possible) project, currently being looked at by Universal.

Re: New Films in Production
I had to check my calendar to make sure it wasn't April 1 already:
Tracy Morgan, Juliette Binoche join 'No One' ; Al Pacino, Channing Tatum and Katie Holmes also in cast
Tracy Morgan is taking over for Terrence Howard, who seems to be making a career out of pulling out of roles. Okay, I liked "Astronaut Jones" and "Brian Fellow's Safari Planet" (and "Uncle Jemima's Pure Mash Liquor" is a comedy classic), but Tracy Morgan is not an actor. He can barely play himself on "30 Rock."

Adam Sandler any better? PTA has a SNL alum fetish that is really obnoxious. I love some of his work, but I wouldn't be suprised if he announced he was working on Coneheads 2.
