You shouldn't need software like that. I just printed the cover directly from XP's picture viewer and the size looks fine to me. I don't have a DVD cover handy to test it tho (I'm at work).

Sorry, I was wrong. The cover came out too large.

Sorry for this temporary derailment of the thread, but I just noticed that there is an unlimited-use but advertising-supported version of the program I listed earlier in the thread; it's all the way at the bottom of the downloads page my link sends you to.
Can you explain to an idiot like me how to use this program with such a file? Do I need to cut up the file into two parts first?
It is a bit confusing, isn't it? Anyway, save mbalson's cover on your hard drive, then when you open the program, the display should feature two templates, one for the front cover and one for the back cover (I think the default setting is for cd covers). In the left template, select "cover templates" and in that menu, select "dvd.keepcase.single.file." Then just click anywhere in the empty white space in the left template, and load mbalson's file; it should automatically resize itself to fit to the template and will automatically print on a single sheet of paper. Hope this helps!

Yeah. Sorry for the confusion. I always use photoshop to print this kind of thing.

This may be the wrong forum for this, I'm not sure exactly where this should go...but here goes...

Does anyone have a slimpack case slip cover for this? I need the space on my DVD shelf, and I don't like the $40 disc just sitting in that little sleeve waiting to be scratched. If anyone does, I'd be greatly appreciated.
Also, I'm also looking for a slimpack case cover for "2046" and Tool's "Salival"

Mods, if this is the wrong forum, please let me know where to put this. Thanks!

Do you have to be a member in order to purchase the DVD off the website, or can you get it regardless?

Regardless. Also (this may be old news), Eraserhead and The Short Films have been packaged as a boxset; you save $5 and presumably, get a third box to put your other two boxes in (this not counting the red-tissue-lined shoebox the boxes are shipped in).

Whoa! It costs an extra $48.15 just to have him sign it?

As the resident Lynch apologist, I feel compelled to note that this is not so different from a very common practice of small-press publishers or self-publishers of books, that of offering a signed edition (usually limited, sometimes numbered, and occasionally with some other "added value" such as a tip-in plate) at a much higher price, marketed to "collectors".

Still, if a person chooses to pay for the signed Eraserhead DVD, I do feel safe offering the following simple equation to describe his or her psychoeconomical status:

M>S

where M=money and S=sense.

At least Lynch went through and cleaned up Eraserhead one freakin' frame at a time so you get some bang for your buck.

Still, $80 for any one movie is not steep, but a slap in the face. Does Lynch hate Europe? Beacause shipping for $40 is just...well I don`t know what to call it.

DVD Empire now sell both Lynch sets, together or separately.

At least they will until he slaps an injunction on them.

And yes, Lynch was more conscientious with his final product than Meyer was. The point still stands.

And they still have a listing for the once rumored Criterion release.

I read somewhere that Lynch was giving permission for other online retailers to start selling Eraserhead and his Short films DVD.

I'm pretty sure Seattle's Scarecrow got his blessing to sell them online.

Apparently, it's also available in UK now.
Previously available only through the filmmaker's official website, Eraserhead is now being made available to retailers around the country through online wholesaler IndieBuyer.net. Retailers can order the film, which is being offered along with the bonus disc "The Short Films of David Lynch," now. Shipping is due to begin 1st July 2005.

Does this mean that living in Europe you no longer have to pay those ridiculously high customs charges?

Let's just hope those of us who bought those big bulky things will have a chance to replace or at least buy the new cases.

And apparently it is releasing to pretty much all major retailers (Amazon, DDD) via Rykodisc. I, however, will wear that lousy giant package on my shelf as a badge of honor. Or at least out of spite for having to pay double for it just so Lynch could change his mind and ink a deal. (scoff).. Film directors...

The cover I designed above is better anyway. Who wants a cover with the big 2000 text all over it?

I love it. How about a similar one for the Short Films?
