I thought it was funny as hell that the the only guy they got to praise him was his own father.

Haha, that rush for Best Pic was like writing a long winding love letter and then getting to the end of the page and rushing to actually fit in what you were bothering to say.

To me, since Fantastic Mr. Fox or The Informant! weren't nominated, The Hurt Locker was the best of the best picture nominees, so I'm more than a little satisfied with that. But I'm still pretty exhausted by what a crappy show it was.

Right now James Cameron is looking over at 48 year old Suzy Amis and thinking, "Man, I really fucked up..."

And now, thankfully, we can put the terrible noughties to rest. Here's hoping the American cinema fares better this decade.

With the right role at the right time, Traci Lords maybe...

On the bright side, the Academy has now gone four straight years without awarding Best Picture to the worst of the nominees. That's got to count for something.

I'm intrigued. In fact the nominations for Foreign Language are a great deal more leftfield than they were for the Baftas; you would expect it to be the other way around? I really expected A Prophet to walk it. The one big surprise of the evening.
