Pretty Much Every Paramount DVD is OOP

Movies Unlimited has a page up of the OOP DVDs they still have in stock for list price-- be warned that some of the titles will go out of stock between when you place the order and when the order gets fulfilled, but I was pretty happy with what got through

Placed an order from them eariler this week, comprised of titles from that list, a couple of them Paramounts.

Off topic, but was surprised when I ran across La Femme Du Boulanger as I've never run across it as being available on DVD anywhere else. Anybody have any idea what it is I'm getting? (Imagining the worst, but hoping for the best...)

A lot of the titles on that Movies Unlimited list are bootlegs (anything with a chair and a movie screen on the cover), and I'm curious as to how a bootleg goes out of print.

Just to confirm: The Australian 3 Days of the Condor plays back on region A players? I plan on going region free eventually but would like to get this now. Also, where would the best place be to get Blu-rays from Australia and ship them to the US?

I think every country's Three Days of the Condor Studio Canal Blu is the same thing, meaning region AB, so it should play fine?

and if you are determined to buy from Australia, i've used EzyDVD with impressive shipping times and great prices. They were THE place to shop for HD DVDs before they all went kaput.

Actually, I was just directed to to the French Blu-ray for 3 Days... I was only aware of the Australian and German, but if the French one is the same I might just get that one. But if I do go for the Australian I'll look into that site. Thanks!

Paramount has licensed a few more titles to Lions Gate that have been recently been rereleased: Jimmy Hollywood, Ladybugs

Crap titles but more evidence that they're farming out their library to whoever wants to pay for it. Yay?

Ian's post reminded me that Don May, Jr. (Synapse Films) said he was talking to Paramount about licensing some of their films.

Of course I didn't ask him if Synapse has, or is going to, license any Paramount films. I was, at the time, more interested in the news that Paramount no longer has the rights to Four Flies on Grey Velvet.

My "I Love the 80s" edition of Ordinary People felt really heavy, and upon opening it I discovered a CD of 80s songs was helpfully included. Nothing like "Lips Like Sugar" and "Need You Tonight" to compliment the film

I thought these "I Love the 80s" editions were just repackaging, but no, they've actually edited the film slightly. The line where Timothy Hutton tells Elizabeth McGovern that he listens to modern jazz has been looped to say "'Take On Me' by A-Ha"

Thanks to DVDAf's search collection by studio, I've just figured out how many Paramount DVDs I've bought in the last couple weeks. It's, uh, a lot more than I started with

went to a different B&N than the two i've been to already here and as I was walking towards the Criterions I peripherally noticed a familiar cover....for Harold and Maude!

didn't find anything else, but a good example to check them out beyond the criterion sale when you go in.

Amen to that! During this sale I've snagged two copies of Harold and Maude, and one each of Hud, Nashville, Ordinary people, the Wenders box, a couple Paramount Centennials, and a few more I just can't think of at 4am. I never would have looked for them if I weren't putzing around in BN while looking for Criterions. And, for some reason, each of them save the Wenders box has been on sale for at least 30% off, to boot!
