I must admit that I miss the old spine, but this is so sleek and beautiful that I could never complain.

The Breathless DVD packaging is superb. It would've been foolish to stray too far from that, I think.

No one wears aviators in Breathless. Tsk-tsk, get your sunglasses chic right, Criterion.

The orange and black is the spine of the interior digipak, just like the DVD version. The spine of the slipcase is on the other side on Criterion digipaks. I'm sure it will still be the smoochy spine we all know and love.

I don't know if there is any actual proof that it is indeed a digipack, but by looknig closely at the bottom part of the product, it looks as if it's only an Amaray with a slipcover. It seems to me as we can see the translucid side and bottom of the Amaray under the cardboard.

But I don't know, it's maybe only me.

I think that's just the bottom of the slipcase you're seeing. Pretty certain it's a digipak. If you look at the copy that's wearing the sunglasses, you'll notice that the spine of the digipak is folded at a bit of an angle near the bottom, as digipaks tend to do.

It probably is a digipack, due to the size of the booklet, but it might be like Che in this regard.

Individualized covers with some unifying details for the set, along the lines of the recent Nabokov paperback redesigns. Very nice.

These are just fucking great.

The creased poster look is a lovely touch.

Those are way beyond what I was expecting - a true embarrassment of riches! Hopefully they won't always be hidden inside the box, but are given a chance to exist in the marketplace on their own.

Agreed. Even if I wasn't already hip to get this set, I would want it just for these covers. Great work!

This is why God created Christmas - so I can get a bonus and buy this for myself if no one gets it for me by December 25th. Thank you, Jesus, for He is Born. *blesses self*

No haters so far? ... a little surprising, but I can't disagree, these covers are really nice. I'm impressed.
