Does anyone know where I can find a transcription of the English translation of Alice? I bought the VHS in Czech about 10 years ago from Svankmejer's gallery.

I suspect most of you have seen the announcement in the BFI thread about Alice on region-free Blu-ray in the original Czech, but just in case you've missed it...

Tedious question: Is the site petoluk linked to the best place to order from internationally?

Re: Jan Svankmajer
For the record, the version screened at the London Film Festival featured an English voiceover over Švankmajer's intro, with the rest of the film being in subtitled Czech - so it sounds as though the DVD is the same.

Re: Jan Svankmajer
Correct; basically, there's no way to play the entire film in Czech with subtitles, as Švankmajer's (hilarious) intro is not subtitled (well, it is - in Czech HoHMichaelB wrote:For the record, the version screened at the London Film Festival featured an English voiceover over Švankmajer's intro, with the rest of the film being in subtitled Czech - so it sounds as though the DVD is the same.
