I'm definitely thinking about this, but if it's region B locked the blu-ray won't do me any damned good- that's still not announced?

Hey Nick, is there a size option for the T-shirt? My order got processed via PayPal and I wasn't told about the T-shirt at all.

Oh, please tell me it has something to do with region coding!
Coded XXL, I suppose ;)

GREAT! Just ordered, of course. My second 'free' Blu after "Early Spring", and I hope that MoC will continue to go the BFI 'dual' route with some of their Blu releases, at least with films as important as this.

Price is GBP 24,99, in case anyone wonders about it (not mentioned on the site, or I couldn't find it).

Well I would have just gotten the BD only edition but I must admit I'm tempted by this. When I first heard of the dual format option, I assumed this was Nick's way of testing out the results of the BD vs. DVD vs. dual release poll earlier this year. But if one of the options is available earlier, with extra goodies, that's skewing the results!

Nick, please tell if the BD is region free. As I would definitely love to purchase the Steelbook.

Size info and a pic of the shirt would be nice.

That is indeed gorgeous.

As to the region concerns, my pal that emailed Kino about the situation also received a surly reply from Nick, "May I ask why it concerns you... We simply haven't [pinned it down]." I believe this was as of last week.

Like you said, the T-shirt, the promotional advertising, it's not really fair for the DVD / BR only editions !

Anyway, I don't care, I took the dual-format anyway. \:D/

Personally it was the "limited edition steelbook" that was the tipping point for me. But for the record, I would still vote for BD only in a fair fight.

Actually, it were the 'limited edition' and the T-shirt that made me jump on it. I really don't like steelbooks normally, though with "Metropolis" it might be strangely fitting for the film.

Ditto.

On a side note, I'm assuming the whole last page and a half of this thread breaks the rule of "not cluttering up the threads for MoC titles with information on pre-orders." 8-[

Question remains : how will they fit 3 discs in one Steelbook ?

This has been done before on Disney's Snow White Blu-ray. See this.

Just one thing that I`m wondering about. It says on the site:
• Separate DVD and BD editions with wraparound embossed sleeve, or Ltd Ed Steelbook Dual Format edition
If we pre-order, how do we know we get that steelbook? and is it embossed as well? [-o<

Thanks for the link. I was in fact thinking about something like that, but I've never seen it before.

My gosh, that's a real thing, here. It's written : T-Shirts will be shipped within 14 days and you will be guaranteed early delivery of the steelbook.
I assume that all these 48hrs pre-orders will be steelbooks.
Otherwise, I can just cancel my order and take only the BR release.

Will the steelbook only be available for this 48 hour pre-order?
Do you think we'll see the steelbook any cheaper than GBP24,99 or those willing to wait for the price to drop will have to do without the limited steelbook edition?

The SteelBook will be available everywhere else also from Nov 22nd, while stocks last... alongside the normal versions.

Sorry that this 48hr offer has given the impression that the SteelBook is only available for two days. We'll try and answer the other questions asap.

Oh - I assumed it was like The Human Centipede, and only from you directly.

I'm fine with it being available elsewhere, but I hope the price for early preorders remains competitive. It would be a bummer to have say, Amazon turn around and offer it for £17.50 or something like that.

Well, it stays a limited steelbook edition + T-Shirt.
I'm fine with that, and glad to know that it's very unlikely not to have the steelbook edition by pre-ordering.

Thanks for the intel, Nick !

But honestly, what would have been great is a picture (and a size) for the T-Shirt...

That`s what I mean.Then I don`t really need to pre-order now.
Wondering what the price will be for the steelbook only, without the t-shirt

Hi Guys/Gals,

To answer a few questions.

RRP for the steelbook is £29.99
Standard BD RRP is £24.99
DVD RRP is £22.99

T-Shirts are only available from us, they will be really nice quality and will be selling for £14.99 separately.

Eureka deal with all sales, so please email me, Kevin at [email protected] --- any emails to Nick or MoC just get forwarded to me anyway. Thanks!

Please note we are not able to confirm region coding yet as it's not been worked out. We are still in negotiation.

Hope that helps. If you do have further questions email me on the above address and I'll get back to you ASAP
