What's with the amorphous blue blob behind Grant and Hepburn on the Charade cover and booklet? Its irregular, jagged border makes it looks like the remnants of of a Photoshop cut-n-paste from the original poster. It has been shown that way on the Criterion site, but I assumed it was just unfinished art. I can't believe it made it to production that way as a mistake, so what is it supposed to be?

The 'blob' is found on the original Spanish poster. It is definitely larger, and more of an eye-sore on the Criterion cover though.

Received my copy of the Breathless blu-ray yesterday and I love how they worked with the original dvd design and made it into this beautiful digipack.
Luckily they changed those horrendous dvd menu`s as well. Thought this menu was amazing (although normally I don`t care about how a menu screen looks.)
And,quite to my surprise, it arrived in perfect condition. That`s been a while...

I'll shut up about the blue blob now. I got the Charade Blu-ray today, and it looks much more organic (though still kinda weird) in person. I can see now that without it Cary Grant's suit would blend right in to the background.

I think the problem is that, as seen on a computer screen, the edge looks like bad artifacting- it's fine when you see it looking torn and ragged in a natural way, but on a screen it looks like shitty MS Paint.

I really dig the package. The blob doesn't bother me, I just find it strange that they didn't just fill in the entire black circle. Hardly what I'd call an issue though.

I wonder if it's to meet contractual obligations, as seems to have been the case with the slipcovers on Royal Tenenbaums and the Life Aquatic.

Can you slip the disposable cover into the inside pocket, or like Double Indemnity does it not fit?

Yes, the film will finally be on one BD disc. I don't mind the case at all though, I was very happy with The Leopard packaging. This looks to be exactly the same.

The film will be one disc I assume, but the extras would have to go on a second disc (and it is a two-disc set), so that would explain the packaging be a digi rather than a keepcase. I doubt the booklet had that much to do with it.
