Really? I thought that was an interestingly pulpy cover for a movie that is fundamentally pulpy. The other covers all seemed too self-serious to me, which is a chronic problem with that series.

It also gets us away from that now horribly dated image of people in trench coats and Oakley sunglasses (which I now, helplessly and automatically, associate with Columbine). It does promise a more Gigeresque/Cronenbergian movie than the reality.

:-&
I've held off on buying a copy of this, mostly because it looks like it doesn't have subs and I can't find anything anywhere about the quality of the transfer, but that cover certainly doesn't help matters either...

What's worse is that every time I see this image Never Goin To Let You Go by Sergio Mendes pops into my head.

The image of Costner looks like something you'd see air-brushed on the side of a van parked at a Neil Diamond concert.

For airbrushing you simply cannot beat this one of Pacino:Cash Flagg wrote:The image of Costner looks like something you'd see air-brushed on the side of a van parked at a Neil Diamond concert.

Not a DVD cover, but a book cover that has more to do with the film then it's source material.

Why the shower drain has chosen to regurgitate all of the blood it sucked up is beyond me. Or does that happen in one of the sequels?

I like that Hessen cover.
Even if the background war looks overly blurry and fake-ish.
Of course, I hate the names not matching the position of the actors, but we've been through that.

Maybe you like the attempt at a naturalistic placing of the Billy Zane headshot.Lemmy Caution wrote:I like that Hessen cover.

I like how Zane is concerned with keeping his dinner jacket buttoned while WWII explodes around him.

It looks to me like they're trying to dog the uninformed consumer into thinking they're buying Casino Royale.

Funny, I thought they were trying to dog the uninformed consumer into thinking Billy Zane has a career.

I'd like to think you made those up, because the prospect that all three of those actually exist is too scary to contemplate.
Who would have thought that the three worst DVD covers ever produced would all be for the same film?

It's great that that awesome lineup of bonus features is right on the cover.
