At BN today, flipping through blurays after picking up Silent Naruse I noted that they had Chungking Express in the keepcase, rather than in the squishy-crusho box.

I think that I shall change my legal name to Squishy Crusho.

I was going to buy Spirit of the Beehive on Barnes & Noble and the page shows this picture:

Does this mean it's not a digipack any longer?

How do you replace a booklet/insert? I bought the Army of Shadows BD at J & R in Manhattan a few days ago, and the insert was a little dog-eared, as if it slipped out of place in transit and got a little ruffled inside the case.

If it's any help, the same image was up when I ordered Beehive from B&N a couple summers ago during a 50% off sale, and I received a digipack. I say go for it.felipe wrote:I was going to buy Spirit of the Beehive on Barnes & Noble and the page shows this picture: ....Does this mean it's not a digipack any longer?

It wouldn't be a black case even if Criterion did put it in a case, so I think that's just a default BN template

Have you gotten a sneak on watching Le Cercle Rouge and is it still of colour wise like the bluray.com review showed?

I only took a quick look and I would say it does, though it's sometimes hard to judge captures. In comparison to the DVD the colours certainly look more natural, and better honestly.knives wrote:Have you gotten a sneak on watching Le Cercle Rouge and is it still of colour wise like the bluray.com review showed?

It's the eyes fold-out, I believe.

Nope, that's Vera Clouzot in Diabolique. Her eyes were featured on the original Criterion cover:

Now it looks like an Essential Art House title, if slightly more prestigious. Is this film just completely boring or something?

Wow, the new cover for Makioka Sisters is a huge, huge improvement- and yeah, it seems like almost a sly confirmation that this is pretty much an Essential Art House release, as it's straightforwardly a screenshot with a title treatment above it.

Great stuff, now if they change they get rid of the pointless bar at the top, and change the text to something more interesting, they would have a beautiful cover.

So, so, so much better. It certainly was a terrible cover before and couldn't understand the lack of riots and murders around it. Maybe because there was too many covers to comment about.
