So it's my understanding that for this release, the repeated word "fuck" has been replaced with "shit". If that is indeed the case, is "shit" really any more family-friendly that "fuck"?

Is this the version where George VI doesn't get so brutally whipped before he gets crucified for our sins? If so, I'm relieved that I can finally take my whole Monarch-worshipping family to enjoy it!

While we are having fun, here's a question: Is this just a repurposed version of Longford?

Coming to terms with their place in the new world after having been kept away from it for a long time - Myra Hindley = George VI.

The outsider taking an interest in a rehabilitative case - Longford = Lionel Logue.

The threateningly disruptive spectre, a character who is left undeveloped yet present in the background - Edward VII = Ian Brady?

The prim, uptight wives who learn to enter more fully into their husband's actvities after initially being rather wary of them - Lindsay Duncan's Lady Longford = Bonham Carter's Queen Elizabeth

If that's the first extended analogy between the British Royal Family and the Moors Murderers, I certainly hope it's not the last!

If I see one more commercial announcing this as the family friendly affair of the year I'm going to throw my shoe at the television. How much advertising space did those idiots buy?

If I were doing the poster design, I would have tried to figure out a way for the obnoxious "Rated PG-13" banner to, you know, just coincidentally be placed over Colin Firth's mouth.
