Re: New Films in Production
Godard and Manoel de Oliveira will be making films about the Portuguese city of Guimaraes, European Capital of Culture 2012.
"Histórias do Cinema (Histories of the Cinema)
This feature film consists of six short films by European directors from different cultural origins. it is a symbolic project combining ideas and sensitivities, with the participation of Manoel de Oliveira and Jean-Luc Godard."

Brunette Amy Adams is more mind-blowing than any juvenile slomo action Snyder has planned

What he said, but damn I wish they got a good drama director instead. Supes does not make for good action movies.

With Viggo circling in as Zod, I may have to watch a Zack Snyder movie.

I'm still hoping Sucker Punch fails enough that Snyder gets pulled.

It's already been established that it sucks, but that's been the consensus on all of his prior films too and it hasn't made a difference. They make money.

I think Cold Bishop meant box-office failure, especially since Sucker Punch had a dismal weekend. I doubt it'll put the kibosh on his directing the Superman film but, between this and the lukewarm reception The Owls of Ga'Hoole and Watchmen got, his money-maker golden boy status is slightly endangered.mfunk9786 wrote:It's already been established that it sucks, but that's been the consensus on all of his prior films too and it hasn't made a difference. Re: New Films in Production
I'm certainly no apologist for Snyder but regardless I'm very enthused about seeing Sucker Punch. I've been breathlessly anticipating this one since that first awesome trailer. A friend who caught it already informed me that, not surprisingly, the worst aspect of it was the heavy handed politics Snyder tries to cram in as evidence of his "serious intent". The target audience (not me) will, undoubtedly however, approve.

Not really. I know a few Snyder fans who absolutely hated the film. They were primarily turned off by the sexual politics which they found to be loathsome.John Cope wrote: The target audience (not me) will, undoubtedly however, approve.

I still haven't seen it, but I assume that this means that 2006's Superman Returns was not a success and now they are revamping the franchise yet again?

Re: New Films in Production
But they've been making less and less money. And his relationship with WB is much more strained now than when he was the post-300 wonderboy. In fact, if Nolan wasn't in charge supervising him (it's him the studio really wants), I'd doubt he'd be attached to Superman at this very moment.mfunk9786 wrote:They make money.

I'm surprised Nolan wants him for the job. Nolan's ultra-controlled (if bombastic) vision of the superhero genre doesn't seem to be within Snyder's range.

Even when you can get them for the exact same price, most people STILL always seem to prefer a Big Mac over prime rib, obviously. #-omfunk9786 wrote:It's already been established that it sucks, but that's been the consensus on all of his prior films too and it hasn't made a difference. Re: New Films in Production
I thought the whole point of Miss Marple was that, being a little old lady, she was able to be constantly underestimated by everyone around her and therefore could listen into incriminatory conversations while everyone thought that she was having an afternoon nap or a quiet bout of dementia in the corner. Without that angle what is going to make the 'Young Miss Marple Chronicles' any different from any other series of Alias?

Nothing screams innocuous like the hottest woman you've ever seen!colinr0380 wrote:I thought the whole point of Miss Marple was that, being a little old lady, she was able to be constantly underestimated by everyone around her and therefore could listen into incriminatory conversations while everyone thought that she was having an afternoon nap or a quiet bout of dementia in the corner.
I literally laughed out loud at that article's title, btw.

Jennifer Garner is the hottest woman you've ever seen?

Just wanted to say thanks for mentioning this; a couple years back I got to hear Tatsumi Yoshihiro (and Adrian Tomine) speak about his career.ambrose wrote:Tatsumi

Don't know if you guys have heard of this or if this is feature length or just a short video project, but here is an on-set video of a Harmony Korine and James Franco project named "Rebel"
