I see the rest, but Three Documentaries doesn't seem to be there right now- it's only showing up in the context of the big Janus box.

This is surprising, I thought that line had been pretty firmly discontinued now that they've released a couple of mainline titles with the EAH price point.

This has to be a fairly recent acquisition, but Market Lazarova is playing at the American Cinematheque in Los Angeles and rights are said to be owned by Janus Films. I actually saw this last year at The Cinefamily in Los Angeles with a pristine print and nothing was ever mentioned of Janus owning the rights.

It's been mentioned in passing here before. Unless the eventual DVD comes with the SR doc though I think their boxset is still going to be the way to go.

Except that the film recently underwent a massive restoration and the SR DVD, as indispensable as it has been for years, has room for improvement PQ-wise.

The Criterion Twitter thread is buzzing with speculations re: Kieslowski, the Colours trilogy and a possible CC Decalogue. Well, if Criterion reads this, there are many good possible extras to be found in the 200 minutes of extras in the Polish DVD box, and in the extras in the French DVD box from Editions Montparnasse.

Maybe a new commentary? The old one isn't bad, but it's strange (and in a sense not really a commentary.) In any case, it sounds like it's worth hanging on to the old one, for a while at least (I wonder if the repackaged version is going to be a rare collector's item.)

I'm optimistic that CC will release Decalogue at some point but I think it's a bit much to expect it already in November.

I don't think The Decalogue is a huge reach for November. I'd think that Criterion would try to synchronize the Kieslowski's... if they do indeed have the rights to both. I think they do, so I have a feeling that Criterion will announce both Kieslowski sets on Monday. (They know they have to top this past November!)

I think it's strategic of them not to build up hype for The Decalogue. It would only make it all the more "impactful" when it's (hopefully) announced next week. It works, because one would think they'd tease the shit out of it! (Skepticism will always prevail!!)
