I'd be surprised- that's almost all blu upgrades, and November is usually a big release month. Besides, Bitter Rice is almost a certainty.

OK fine, add Bitter Rice. That would make 5 new releases (counting the trilogy as 3), one new edition (Picnic), and three Blu-only upgrades. Although, Rushmore might actually be a new edition also instead of a straight Blu upgrade.

In addition to what we already know for sure I'll guess

The Soft Skin
City Lights
A King in New York

I'd be pleasantly surprised if Quadrophenia were announced, just because they haven't posted much else on Hulu that contains a lot of hit songs, and that's led me to suspect (though I'm no expert) that maybe the licencing of songs for online streaming and the licences for releasing songs on discs are separate - having the rights to one doesn't necessarily mean they already have the rights for the other. None of the concert documentaries are on Hulu yet, for instance.

Do the people saying Picnic at Hanging Rock know something that I overlooked, or is it just wishful thinking?

They're on the record as saying it's coming at some undetermined point. I'm guessing it because they did a Facebook post on it a couple weeks ago for no apparent reason that I could discern.

NEW:
Three Colors
The Soft Skin
Bitter Rice
City Lights

NEW EDITION:
Rules of the Game

UPGRADES:
Rushmore
Wild Strawberries

9 films. Maybe even a new Ess. Arthouse, but thinking that might be for December. Hope I'm wrong about all of this though, and get a surprise.

The problem with all your guesses is that I've seen them all enough times already (well, except for The Rules of the Game, which can never be seen too many times). So, let's think a little more outside the box, shall we?

EDIT: I mean, have we given up even hoping for a Gremillon Eclipse or the Gorins...?

Oh, by no means would I want what I listed. I would rather have a Gorin Eclipse as the only release, then to see what I listed. I thought this was more "guess what would actually come". Gorin seems to be on that pic of 2012 releases though.

November is always the big month, and just a feeling that they'll be amping up the the upgrades this year for the holidays. Forgot about Bitter Rice, so switched out Ghost World for that. and wasn't Sunday Bloody Sunday in the New Years illustration too?

There's a difference between big and absurd. Remember - the Three Colors Trilogy counts as three new releases as far as Criterion is concerned.

With the logic that each individual film counts as its own release (as opposed to a box set as one release), then Criterion released ten titles last November (with no blu upgrades, right?) Minus the Three Colors Trilogy for this year, that would mean as many as seven new releases or upgrades. It does seem steep estimate but it certainly wouldn't be unwelcome.

For those I would totally be fine with a Border Radio upgrade.

Does anyone think that Criterion might have also picked up the rights to a DVD / Blu-ray release of Touch Of Evil, similar to the upcoming release from Masters Of Cinema?

So we should mark that down for the announcements I see. :)

Last November was an anomaly. Most of the work on the America Lost and Found Box set was done by Sony.

This year, in the 10 months of titles announced and released, they have had 2 months (August and October) with 8 releases, 2 months(May and June) with 7 releases and 6 months with 6 releases. Since they are releasing 8 titles in October, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess they are only going to have 6 releases in November, but that it counting the Three Colors trilogy as one. So, my guess for today's announcement:

Three Colors Trilogy
City Lights
The Rules of the Game
À nos amours
Ikiru
Rushmore

The Soft Skin [-o<

who knows?... Exotica [-o< [-o<

by the way, did someone buy or find a test of the blu-ray release of The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (Les Parapluies de Cherbourg) ??. It's out only in Japan since last July and I can't find a single screenshots of this blu-ray...
What intrigued me is that there's no plan (at least announced) from Arte to release it in France. And I don't see how Ciné Tamaris could be related to a Japanese studio only without a Blu-Ray release in the US (perhaps by Criterion ?) and in France.

It'd be easier for them to fill out an unexpectedly light schedule with additional bluray upgrades (full on reissues like Diabolique take much more time), so if we see four or five 'holiday special' upgrades of major catalog releases I'm guessing something got bumped

Three Colors trilogy
Qatsi trilogy
Bitter Rice or Y tu Mama Tambien
Rushmore
Rules of the Game

I'm really hoping that City Lights comes out this month, though, but it is easy to see a light December with City Lights, Wild Strawberries and Fanny and Alexander as the main releases (and whichever of Bitter Rice/Y Tu is leftover from this month)

The Qatsi trilogy is just random, I'm sure it's on deck for 12 not now, but that'd be a heckuva guess. Much more likely is probably a Wes Anderson trilogy upgrade of Rushmore, Tenenbaums and Life Aquatic.

Sadly I don't think so...

A blu-ray of Ikiru, wild strawberry and Rule of the Game would be quite awesome on the same day...
