There weren't as many laughs as I was hoping, but it was a cute episode. (Also, I've never seen an episode of Glee, but if what I just saw was even a bit accurate, I'll let it stay that way).
It was far more than even a bit accurate. So, you're making a smart decision.

I laughed out loud the whole time. The progression in Annie's song was perfect. Boop boop sex.

It was actually a nice transition into the horror project as well.

Tonight's episode was another one of a generous handful in the run of the series where, midepisode, I had to take a break from laughing constantly for the sake of my health.

Also, my new Christmas catchphrase:

In terms of laughs per minute, I think it even beat out the alternative realities episode and vaulted to funniest of the season for me.
Britta used to be a good dancer ("Interpretive Dance") but I'm glad the show has abandoned that in favor of sublime awkward jerkiness. She's absolutely the best when she's The Worst.

domino harvey wrote:It was a bit rough around the edges on the whole, but it's the most I've laughed this season outside of the alternate realities ep. Britta, as ever, did indeed steal the show (Harmon is basically engineering a MASH note to Gillian Jacobs this year), and I loved the "Me So Christmas" callback.
I like how you've moved beyond all that silly shipping of characters on the show and have begun a Harmon and Jacobs rally

Beyond all the songs (Troy and Abed's rap especially), I thought that the zoom into Winger's mouth like Invasion of the Body Snatchers was really clever.

Great episode, my favorite of the season so far. I was hoping Harmon would translate his Glee hate into a nice theme ep, and what better theme than Invasion of the Body Snatchers?

I can't seem to get "Baby Boomer Santa Claus" out of my head, especially the lyric "and then in 1970 he did more drugs..."

Yeah, as inspired as some of the other tunes were, that was my favorite too.

My favorite three. I'm not too embarrassed to admit I've yelped out "Baby boomer Santa! Thank you for MTVeeee!" while shimmying in my apartment.

Plus, Pierce's reactions progressing from modest pride to unbridled giddiness were priceless.

Dan Harmon liked this so much he tweeted it twice.

These things don't usually appeal to me, but I've watched it like five times in a row. Amazing how every single facial expression seems to capture the spirit of this breed of 80s show.

Giancarlo Esposito will guest on the show, whenever it comes back. No word if he's bringing a box cutter.
