Goddamn right Plummer. It's a shame Beginners didn't go the distance here, but it's wonderful and so is he

It sucks that this is only his first though. He's one of those guys who deserves lots.

Me (to my wife): Beginners is a really good movie and I think you'd like it.
My wife: You're talking to me?
Me: Yeah.
My wife: We saw it, together.

i noticed you and i were the only ones here to have it in our top tens - which frankly shocked me. extremely moving film.domino harvey wrote:Goddamn right Plummer. It's a shame Beginners didn't go the distance here, but it's wonderful and so is he

He usually annoys me, actually. But I'm glad he won this one.knives wrote:It sucks that this is only his first though. He's one of those guys who deserves lots.

There are people who don't love him? Wow, I never thought that would happen. Admittedly he's the poor man's O'Toole, but that still pretty good.

He should have won for The Insider ... and I don't usually like to play the "shoulda won/been nominated" game.knives wrote:It sucks that this is only his first though. He's one of those guys who deserves lots.

I liked him in The Insider too. But he did get a nomination for The Last Station which I thought was awful and which I thought he was intolerable in.

Re: Awards Season 2011
I don't even think he was nominated for that, and you're right. It's obvious playing Mike Wallace turned out to be some good karma for him, as someone else being as busy at such an advanced age.

I wish Tinker had won. That's a great score (I really need to see the film though).

Re: Awards Season 2011
I don't disagree but at the same time I would have a hard time voting for a score that punted on its climactic scene.knives wrote:I wasn't because that's a stupid controversy.
