It's still no Decaemeron Bop, but it's much better than Nero Fiddled

I don't know; it sounds like another of the omnibus films like Paris, je t'aime and New York, I Love You. They'll never come up with anything else as cool as The Bop Decameron.

As far as shameless ploys to remind the audience of Midnight in Paris, it could have been worse... There's No Place Like Rome?

What a pity W.Allen is not interested in offer flesh (Match point was a missing oportunity when they nail under the rain), with that hot cast + Penelope, and the refferences to Bocaccio or / and Pasolini's decameron, come on, it's Italy, show us sex.
You forgot Roberto Benigni and many many others but I wonder what has to do sex with italy

You wrote that because of catholicism? (obsession with sex) :)

I wrote what I did because I think W. Allen has not change about sex since his origins: fine humor, brilliant highbrow jokes, but not flesh. Why? He is an American (NY social climber, that is his big complex), he works with Americans or British actors (cold as ice); when he moved his themes to Europe, I thought it was the begining of a radical change, using new actors (hot blood people who is not afraid to show the body and they are proud of it, not cold Hollywood stars making their charity to independent and prestige cinema), but nothing changed, except the kiss between Penélope and Scarlett in Vicky Cristina BCN, his approach to sex is still as cold as an iceberg.
Match point and Vicky are his two physic films.

In European cinema people love, kiss and make love in a way different to American movies. Come on, it's so obvious that I think it's ridiculous to talk about that.

People have called me a lot of things, but catholic with sex complex, wow, that's new. Thank you very much.

I prefer "Nero fiddled" too. Mediapro, the Barcelona co-producer has the right to name the film on their contract with W.A. May be they wanted Rome as they forced to use the word Midnight in the previous one.

It sounds that Denmark's capital will be his next destination.

I totally agree with you about woody and sex and the difference between Europe and America. Don't take it personally I just made an equation between italy, catholicism and sex obsession. I'm Italian and I know what I'm talking about :)

I took some funny pictures from the set in Rome last summer, WA is a real neurotic workaholic.

Looks that way after his next project. He's filming in NYC this summer.

Are you sure about that? He's acting in a movie that John Turturro is directing next month. He's also prepping the stage show of Bullets Over Broadway for the 2013 season, but 2013 looks to be the first year since 1982 without a new Woody Allen film. He'll shoot in Copenhagen next year, and that film will be out in 2014.

The last paragraph of that HR article now indicates that there are no plans to shoot in Denmark:
Aronson, however, told THR she was not in contact with Holst and that Allen had no plans to set his next film in Copenhagen.

Woody Wants to Come Home and Sun shines again for Woody Allen after 'Midnight'

We should find out what he's filming this summer any time now.

Cool. Hadn't heard about that, but it sounds like it's straight from the horse's mouth. It's awfully late in the game for him to be deciding if it's a comedy or drama he's going to begin shooting in three or four months and where he's going to do it.

I don't know about you all, but I could listen to Ellen Page talk about sleeping with women all day.

Looks good. Woody's trailers never give away much. The Midnight in Paris trailer was hardly memorable.

I can't wait to see more scenes with Woody/Judy Davis.

I like it! Why didn't they titled it NOON in Rome?
Penélope's look is the similar to Sophia Loren in Vittorio de Sica's episode of Boccaccio 70.
No one Italian actor or actress (expect Benigni) in the trailer, so, I imagine they are extras with or without sentence.

After losing the Decameron reference on the title, I regret what I wrote about sex. Decameron means erotism and joy of life (sex), and I hoped flesh.

The trailer remind me Celebrity but in color.

Trailer is terrible and cliched and the music is dire. It only looks good because Rome looks good. Why is Roberto in this? I\'ll still go see it.

The opening second of the trailer looks like an homage to Fellini's Roma, which I like, but the trailer seems very poorly edited. I'll see it because I love Woody Allen, but I doubt this trailer will bring in an audience. I'm sure it's funnier than it looks...

Trailers are almost universally bad these days, and Woody films especially. MIP had an average trailer and an above average film. This looks good, which means this is as best as they can make it look "normal" to have broad appeal.

Overall though, it looks interesting. At the very least he's doing something interesting with the narration he has relied far too much on of late (and was especially terrible in Dark Stranger). Although it looks in itself to be a Fellini-esque homage (And The Ship Sailed On?). The Benigni part looks great though - one of those Woody short films within a film based around a great little concept. No idea how it will fit in with the rest of it though, but we'll see.

Italian critics (I don't know them) have hated this cliché film. I expect seeing it next week if I find an English / Italian not dubbed version.
