It should be noted that the two Fox titles are available in identical form on those four packs.

Fox's The Joan Collins Superstar Collection seems to be OOP as well.

I'd actually love to see Criterion release this along with:Hope and Glory
The Butcher Boy
Europa, Europa
Prisoner Of The Mountains
Come and See
Maybe an 80s/90s Euro war themed box set?

I hate to break this to you, young man, but Criterion can't release everything and probably don't want to release most things.

Quoting this here for those curious-- big news, indeed!fdm wrote:The Thirty Two Short Films About Glenn Gould dvd was reissued last week. So instead of couple of hundred bucks it was regularly going for on ebay over the last few years, you can now check it out for less than ten bucks at your favorite US online store.

The first volume of these (with Tourneur's brilliant Canyon Passage) has been reissued as "4 Movie Marathon: Classic Western Collection".domino harvey wrote:Classic Westerns Round Up Vols 1 and 2

Fair warning: some former Buena Vista titles have been popping back up on Amazon as "in stock," but with a 2012 release date and the small print warning that they're actually On Demand DVD-Rs. Great, like the OOP DVD Market wasn't hard enough to navigate right now

Really, someone giving legitimate love to The Butcher Boy? You do mean the Neil Jordan film correct?SamLowry wrote:I'd actually love to see Criterion release this along with:

I wouldn't mind Criterion doing their great and here's their first film for free and including Danny Boy.
But, alas I believe Butcher Boy is WB....

It seems that the Warners Paul Newman Collection with The Left Handed Gun and the Archer adaptations is gone.

Re: The OOP Heads-Up Thread
This set includes Pocket Money, co-written by Criterion favorite Terrence Malick. The Pockey Money dvd seperate from this set is also OOP and there is no great picture quality improvement between the two or special features on either release. It may have a predictable plot and a climax that underwhelms after all the buildup, but there are some witty moments nonetheless.knives wrote:It seems that the Warners Paul Newman Collection with The Left Handed Gun and the Archer adaptations is gone.

Damn, hopefully Criterion can get some of these. The Women in Love DVD isn't even anamorphic... And it's not like Persona ever had a great transfer...

This is outrageous, I know for a fact that William Atherton would gladly have contributed an interview, commentary, or consented to have his home-made Bio-Dome graphic novel sequels included. I suggest we all email Criterion!!

Specs are still being updated. Criterion is currently negotiating for the release of Bloom's Director's Cut, which runs 3 hours and is all done in one take.

Re: The OOP Heads-Up Thread
The fireplace scene with Belmondo and Deneuve in Mississippi Mermaid is a favorite of mine so it'd be great to see on a Criterion edition. I'd hope that they try to get Darling if they can.

They Shoot Horses, Don't They?, Elmer Gantry, and Lord Love a Duck are essentials for the upcoming 60s project-- I better not be the only one voting for TSHDT again this round!
