I wonder what "new high-definition digital transfer" means in this context?

I'm guessing they mean that they're sourcing their Blu-ray from the digital master that Kaurismäki supervised during post-production, because I can't for the life of me think why they'd need to do a new transfer of a film that had its world premiere less than a year ago.

I was having Koskenkorva(the stuff that Pellonpää drinks like water in Tatiana)yesterday so I forgot to mention that Salminen is also in Cannes press conference extra.He just talks that the film was shot with Ingmar Bergman's old camera and little else unfortunately.

Blu-raydefinition also reviews Artificial Eye's release,seems like Criterion is marginally better.On the other hand,AE is probably going to be less than £10 within few months.

Future Film,a company responsible for releasing Le Havre in 1080i/25fps here in Finland,is going to put out every Kaurismäki film on remastered blu-ray.First two releases are Drifting clouds and I hired a contract killer on june 5th,followed by The man without a past and La vie de boheme couple of weeks later.

I have no idea what remastered means in this case,if I'm not wrong AK owns the original camera negatives for most of his films but since it's Future Film, I'm not holding my breath.
