Cyclo would be fantastic! Condorman less so.

I just realised that Greenaway's The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover is a Universal title. That's another candidate.

I normally don't bother with these sort of threads, but the most fitting film if this is Nick's last work with MoC would be The Cabinet of Dr Caligari. (This assumes they either have a restored print or going with what they have.) It is unfinished business from the Pre-MoC Eureka catalogue, the only one apart from JVS I think, and a re-release has been mooted for some time. The last release was 2000 so it is well overdue and that seems like a long time to have the rights, perhaps the clock is ticking.

Good reasoning, however I was under the impression MoC were waiting on a still upcoming restoration or something along those lines?

MoC used Warren Oates in Cockfighter as their background a while back.

I have the answer.

That's impossible. You can't show it uncut in the UK.

In that case, they're definitely working on The Care Bears Movie.

Nick, I am very sorry to see you leave an enterprise that you obviously nurtured with great loving care. In the last year I have bought more MoC discs than any other label, and my collection has grown from about 1 to about 50 or so... I was a latecomer but I'm glad I saw the light.

I always note your credit for art direction in the booklets, and marvel at your skills in this area. I really hope that other members of the team can carry on the quality of the artwork and typesetting - either themselves or via outsourcing...

Best of luck for the future...

That was my recollection as well which is why I hedged my bets but, hey, if I'm wrong, I'll be wrong for sophisticated reasons...

Best of luck, Nick, and thank you for helping to create such an outstanding collection :)

Long may it continue.

Nick: As with most things in my life, I am nearly 2 weeks behind in reading about your announced departure from the MoC. As you probably realize, many of us have been living vicariously through you these past 8+ years as you built a brand to rival the CC. You should be plenty proud of what you've accomplished. Given the economics of today's DVD/B-R market, it can't have been easy. That you've remained accessible (and teasingly forthright) on this forum throughout your tenure has been a special treat. Best wishes for your future.

You will be missed, Nick. I've been away from the forum for a while (we'll see if I can manage to stay now), so I've only now seen the news. I've been following MoC on the forum since it first emerged. An amazing label! Glad the label won't be disappearing with you. You left some legacy, though.

From MOC's Twitter feed yesterday ... is this something we know about already, and I'm forgetting...?

@mastersofcinema
A pleasure to be working on these Chabrol films. I wish his entire body of work was more easily access-able.

@mastersofcinema
Especially Chabrol's early to mid-'60s output.

Presume they refer to Le Beau Serge and Les Cousins which are due on DVD and BD 25 March.
