You 're right, he did. He put on a hat, pulled out a trumpet and said he was going to band practice. Still not much of a punchline, though.

his band's name, according to his cap, is apparently Kelvin and the Zeroes. Still not much, but a little bit more

I didn't catch that! Thanks, now that's definitely what I call a punchline.RodneyOz wrote:Spoiler

Huh. Kind of a boring episode. Nothing unexpected happened. It went exactly as you'd think it would go. Nothing really to say about it.

Re: Community
Yeah. Just seemed like a lot of filler and a conclusion to an episode that didn't need concluding. The Ken Burns thing was a five-minute bit stretched to 30. After what looked like it could possibly be an interesting arc with Troy and Abed stretched across two episodes, the entire conflict was solved with aMr Sausage wrote:Huh. Kind of a boring episode. Re: Community
He's a complete dick during interviews with the cast, interrupting people and acting obnoxious. While I don't mind his character, I agree with Jeff that's he's just sort of there now with no purpose.
As for last night's episode, the Dean's exclamation of "does anyone go to class anymore!" made me laugh, but it was the most forgettable episode this season, although the "Advanced Gay" episode still wins the crown of this season's worst episode.

All NBC has to do is replace Chase with Bill Murray, again. Heck, the show's creator has said Jeff Winger was inspired by the role played by Murray in Stripes, so we got some love coming from one end, now through money towards the other.mfunk9786 wrote:SHOCK! Re: Community
This is a show that used be able to balance its wackier elements with drier, more subdued humour. What happened? It feels like I'm watching 30 Rock or something (equal number of minutes spent not laughing). And when did Jeff become so boring? He used to be quick witted. I can't even remember the last time he made a sharp comment or out-bantered someone.
Can't believe I'm saying it, but I don't really like this show any more.

Re: Community
Well that was a fantastic episode. Surprised the hell out of me as I thought Annie and Abed doing Inspector Spacetime was going to be unbearably tedious. Instead, this was probably the smartest episode all season. So much great stuff, much of it not telegraphed. Hard to pick a favourite bit, but fake-Troy's breakdown and Dean Pelton's moment of self reflection were standouts.

No one ever said Chevy Chase isn't a complicated man. - I highly recommend listening to all the parts of this interview.

That's three fantastic episodes in a row. So glad to be able to like this show again. I was worried there for a while, but it seems to be rallying itself at the end.

Yeah, if it becomes as clear cut as a choice between Harmon or Chase, the answer is obvious. Right? I mean, there's no contest there

Re: Community
Finally all caught up and agree with M Sausage, the last couple eps have really all been stellar, and I liked the absurd take on all those recent-ish mental hospital movies in this week's ep, even if many of the faux-flashbacks did prove that this show doesn't do return bites of the apple too well (and looks like you can add "noir" to "westerns" in terms of genres the show doesn't actually understand enough to make fun of). But man, the wake episode from last week was just the funniest episode since the Christmas musical, maybe since the alt times lines one even

I liked it: in a season that's been increasingly backing away from the campus oddness that made Greendale so appealing, this is an episode that served us a full dose. And it was nice of Abed to notice that the paintball episode had become "forced" and that we absolutely do not need another one.

Community will be airing on Fridays next season, with Whitney as the lead-in... in other words, don't expect the back nine to be picked up

They couldn't make it any more obvious that they want Whitney and Community to die. Expect NBC's patented couldn't-give-a-shit marketing: "Friday, on an all new Grimm: [25 seconds of bad face morphing and a shot of David Giuntoli looking startled], plus new Whitney and Community, bing bing bong."

Re: Community
Let's hope they at least get through another season. Four seasons is a pretty logical number to end on, and given how uneven this season is, I'm not optimistic that they could even maintain a high level of quality past four.

Re: Community
In theory there's some show of faith by NBC in having Community begin in the Fall, with the possibility of a back nine, instead of in the Spring when it wouldn't be an option. But Friday is the worst night for a "cool kids" show like this, when its core audience will be out getting drunk
