April was the highlight for me, "Except for digging, he's really bad at digging!"
Too bad Community's been replaced to make way for mediocre 30 Rock episodes.

Re: Parks and Recreation
I'm loving these Andy and April subplots, the attack ad stuff was enjoyable but the real pleasure of the episode came from the couple's hospital antics. Chris Pratt is becoming an expert at pratfalls (that name may not be a coincidence).

Re: Parks and Recreation
Another enjoyable episode, though I'm not sure my psyche can comprehend any more scenes involving beta-male showdowns between the nice-normal-non-threateningly-funny-modestly-successful-yet-humble-easily-approachable-moderately-handsome actors, Adam Scott and Paul Rudd. If Paul Schneider makes a late season cameo and has scenes with Rudd and Scott, I'm sure the dynamic will make my head explode due to the sheer volume of awkwardly amicable animosity.

Re: Parks and Recreation
Parks and Recreation taking a 5 week break to make room for Community's return because NBC doesn't want us to be too happy all at once
Which leads me to wonder: why don't they just air these shows every other week all season so they don't need to cancel either one?

Re: Parks and Recreation
Nothing like giving a great show a 5 week break for a show that's a complete waste of time.

My opinion's my opinion, doesn't really matter to me what the rest of the board thinks about either show, although everyone is more than entitled to think of either show what they will.domino harvey wrote:Oh yeah, you've picked the right board for that rogue opinion

I see you haven't been a member for very long, so you may not have noticed that the forum frowns on this kind of thing. This forum appreciates disagreements, provided they are accounted for; one-line snarky dismissals, especially of well loved movies or shows, tend not to go over well. We even ask you not to do it in the rules.Bill Thompson wrote:Not noble, just an opinion.domino harvey wrote:How noble

Re: Parks and Recreation
It wasn't a dismissal of that show though, it was a dismissal of NBC's decision to curb P&R in favor of a show I find inferior. It wasn't an attempt at snark, just an honest opinion of a move by NBC that I don't see the point of. I made sure to make this comment in the Parks thread, because the Community thread is for people who still watch that show and want to discuss it, good or bad. I know that Community fans are happy their show is back and there's no need for me to rain on their parade in their topic. On the other hand, this topic is about Parks and my opinion was about Parks and my dislike of this move. However, this really isn't something to draw out, and if others took my comment as snark then that's my bad.Mr Sausage wrote:I see you haven't been a member for very long, so you may not have noticed that the forum frowns on this kind of thing. That's not what they're doing though Bill. P&R was going to go on hiatus anyway and they're filling it's slot until it's ready with more episodes. After the five weeks Community and P&R are going to be on together. It's not a competition.

Was Leslie's speech at the end really that good or am I letting my own political bias get in the way?

My bias prevents me from judging it appropriately, but it's tough to be objective when you just wish someone had made those same straightforward remarks during the past few election cycles.knives wrote:Was Leslie's speech at the end really that good or am I letting my own political bias get in the way?
The one thing I really do appreciate is that they make Bobby Newport (I can't help but say that name with the "attack-ad" voice in my head even while I type that) genuinely likeable even though he's a complete dolt. It's a testament to Rudd's ability and the P&R crew for always finding something endearing about everyone.

Great episode. Also seeing Buddy Garrity in there made me pretty happy.

There needs to be a Bert Macklin and Janet Snakehole spinoff web series or something.
