Since they asked, I just thought of reminding them that people want to have those remaining Langs. I can't imagine that divisa will wait another two years, too, before they'll release their versions. And whoever is first will get my money.

I haven't kept count of how many Universal titles they were releasing and how many have been announced, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for some HD Sternberg or Sirk.

A Blu of The Pornographers and another early feature would nicely complement Icarus' exciting Imamura news...though seeing as Intentions of Murder is off the docket due to subpar materials (and the muddy Criterion Pornographers DVD suggests even dicier Blu prospects for that film), I wouldn't be surprised if there's no more Imamura on the way. Zegen and/or Eijanaika seem too much to hope for, given that higher profile titles released already have had only modest sales success, but one can dream...

Endless Desire would make a wonderful companion for The Pornographers.

Seconded, absolutely.

I'd also love to see this be the year James Whale receives some extensive HD love too. As much as I love them all, I'd hope to see more than just his three monster films on Blu this year.

Can't find the post at the moment, but peerpee said some time back that a Blu of The Pornographers is out of the question for the same reason a Blu of Intentions of Murder is out of the question.

We're through with Imamura for a long while, at the very least. We're proud of our Imamura editions, but there are lots of other filmmakers we'd like to get to.

I swear to god I'd buy two copies of any Sternberg release you guys put out, if that's what it takes.

If they put Dishonored on blu-ray, I'd buy 2.

Something, anything, that's not already out in R1.

Then I think you'll be very pleased with MoC's forthcoming announcement of a dual-format edition of Jeremy Joe Kronsberg's 1981 cult classic Going Ape, starring Tony Danza and Danny DeVito. With Tony Rayns commentary.

So assuming that's a clue, then there's two DVD titles, 3 dual format titles, and one Blu-Ray only title, which I guess would be a Universal title.

We know that Die Nibelungen is coming. That's all I've got

I'm thinking that the blue dual-format may be Birth of a Nation and I'd hazard a guess and say that the burgundy Blu-only title is Die Nibelungen unless they've changed the cover

Tabu, Nation, Nibelungen have long been discussed, could there be some other huge announcement nobody sees coming that has warranted the image?

Isn't The Passion of Joan of Arc supposed to come this year, too?

As far as I remember, MoC said late 2012/early 2013 but I would imagine that they've postponed it until the upcoming restoration is completed. At least it gives them more time to gather supplements.

I forgot about that! But I don't think this year. I think "forthcoming" like the rest (minus Nibelungen)

Joan of Arc and Tabu are not supposed to be until next year, while BOAN and Die Nibelungen are supposed to be this year. Some of this could have changed though, of course.

I certainly hope so. It would be awfully strange to put out an image proclaiming 'the BIG announcement' if we already know practically everything in advance.

The two DVDs are an interesting element. I would have thought they could have been the big Imamuras that aren't Blu-ready, but recent posts suggest that isn't a possibility.

Are the announcements normally "Big" or is this a special one? A big deal?

EDIT: Nevermind!

I know there were whisperings about the other two surviving Sadao Yamanaka films getting a release and I wouldn't be surprised if MoC didn't think they warranted a Blu-Ray (if HD masters exist at all).
