I get it, like Another 48 Hrs/Another Stakeout!

(I've always thought calling a sequel "Another..." suggests a kind of semi-despairing reaction to hearing about its existence - "You mean there is Another Stakeout? I didn't even like the first one!"

I am surprised that they never made "Another/Yet Another Lethal Weapon" though!)

I'm still holding out hope for a mid-nineties revival featuring Another Casino, Another English Patient, Another Dead Man Walking, and Another Braveheart. Come to think of it, Christopher McDonald as good a candidate as anyone else to play the lead in all four.

So "Another Earth" is a sequel?

No, and neither is Another Heaven, which is an extra reason why that mid-80s/early-90s trend for calling sequels "Another..." was a bit problematic.

You can add Another 9 1/2 Weeks to the list though.

most exciting blu-ray news of the year for me...except for the cover (and poor Michael Sarrazin still can't get any props)

"Unrated director's cut"? The film was already released theatrically with an NC-17 rating! Did the distributor simply not want that rating printed on the case?

Probably. You have to resubmit for DVD.

Wal-Mart probably wouldn't carry an NC-17 version (unless that's changed,) but I've seen them carry Unrated, so that might be the reasoning. Although I believe I read an R-rated DVD was coming out as well.

I've seen Wal-Mart carry NC-17 films like Requiem for a Dream before.

The director's cut release of Requiem for a Dream is also unrated, like this Killer Joe release.

I'm also pretty sure the studios think the "Unrated" tag helps sales. Almost every horror film or thriller, even straight-to-video crap, has UNRATED plastered on it, and it rarely means it would NC-17 worthy anyways.

Killer Joe surrendered its NC-17 rating a few weeks ago.

http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/alfonso-cu ... -bulletin/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

"Killer Joe
Rated Unrated
NOTE: THE NC-17 RATING FOR "KILLER JOE" (C.A.R.A. CERTIFICATE NO. 47457, BULLETIN NO. 2212 2/29/12) HAS BEEN SURRENDERED. THIS FILM IS UNRATED AS OF 10/23/12."

And yes, there will also be an R-rated version. The R-rated cut will be on the DVD release, the Unrated (NC-17) cut will be on the Blu-Ray.

To be on the safe side, I'll say that this is the NSFW cover pic of the forthcoming UK DVD for Kore'eda's Air Doll:
NSFW
Holy moly what a mess! They should have just stuck with the original poster art:

The UK Air Doll cover is atrocious - imagine if the cover for Lars and the Real Girl was done in a similar fashion!

I was hoping that at least this place-holder cover might have materialised into the real thing, sadly it seems not.

This is the cover for Fox's upcoming Laura Blu-ray. I couldn't find a larger photo, but perhaps that's for the best. Apparently, that's supposed to be Gene Tierney that Dana Andrews is embracing.

Apologies if this was posted last year sometime:

It's like she passed out while drunk and someone wrote that on her face with a red Sharpie.

Poor Dave Foley. He hasn't been that thin in like 15 years.

Did someone at Fox mistakenly use this publicity shot from Fallen Angel?
