It looks like they're hoping people will confuse this with another "Ocean's" movie.

Of all 9 men, only Henry Fonda doesn't cast a shadow....

He is, only it's a pale shadow, because he's wearing white!

Based on the cover it appears 12 Angry Men is a Twilight Zone episode where Fonda plots to kill eight other men while the world disappears around them. Cobb however is stuck in a Hamlet production giving the ol' "Alas, poor Yorick" while Klugman attempts to shake him out of it. And scene.

I know nothing will ever top that 12 Angry Men cover, but I found this just too hilarious:

It certainly seems to capture the awkward teen phase, or at least the lazy eye phase.

It actually captures the 'utterly awkward 80's family portrait' experience very well.

Yeah, what's wrong with the Family Ties one? That's what people actually looked like in the 80s.

I totally forgot Tina Yothers (and that little moppet) existed until I saw that image. If you had asked me a couple of days ago how many Keaton kids there were I would have said 2.

I still remember the episode when Tina Yothers' character gets in with the popular crowd and suddenly becomes a valley girl. That was one of only a couple of memorable episodes out of all the very dull ones I watched when I was a kid, the other being the one about Alex cramming for his final exams for days on end and winding up addicted to speed.

Apologies for using such an incredible film as an example.
For me any cover which is cluttered with all this 4-5 Star BS and some terrible blurb from some mediocre part-time newspaper/magazine "critic" "outstanding" "an instant classic" "devastating a must see" etc
People that design these and think it improves the cover deserve a good a slap. Less is more.

Totally agree. Artificial Eye seem incapable of producing a cover without cluttering it with quotes.
And who gives a fuck what Total Film or Empire thinks anyway?

Did they hire one of those guys at state fairs who airbrushes t-shirts to make this?

This at least attempts to weave in the themes of the the movie (I think those stars in the background are meant to be part of the American flag), but it's done in an incredibly clumsy manner. Meanwhile, Brad Pitt looks like a heroin addict, James Gandolfini is rolling his eyes at the excessive pull quotes, Richard Jenkins looks distressed, but not overly so, and Ray Liotta is staring off into space, and with the way he's positioned, he looks like Sylvester Stallone.

Isn't that the film that had a ridiculous number of great retro posters created for it?

Why wedge Helen Hunt's head onto the (semi-iconic-for-80's-kids) original poster art and not credit her? At least be consistent about your slimy retroactive marketing, people.dx23 wrote:

Because that would probably be risking a massive lawsuit from Broderick's lawyers. Billing protocols are savagely negotiated by Hollywood agents and set in stone forever after, which can lead to weird promotional situations years after when the top-billed stars have receded into obscurity and the real selling point of the film has shifted to the margins.Markson wrote:Why wedge Helen Hunt's head onto the (semi-iconic-for-80's-kids) original poster art and not credit her? I always found the following to be a bizarre edit to include the male actor levitating above the dance floor or perhaps on stilts. This is the only film I remember him from while the female leads are still both bankable.

They're likely just doing a back to back rub against him and applied too much pressure whilst dancing. The image is capturing him at the moment of being fired up and out of the picture like a cork from a bottle.
