Arrow look to have changed up the details of their returns policy for Zombie Flesh Eaters.
They no longer require you to return the affected disc to them. A clear photo or scan of your receipt or a copy of your order confirmation email will now suffice. Full details are in the link above. Good news, especially for those of us living outside of the UK.
If you've already spent money on postage, they'll make good by sending on a copy of their ArrowDrome DVD edition of The Man With the Severed Head free of charge.
All the above is only good until March 31st, 2013 though.

I just ordered one a few days ago.
I sure hope it's the corrected disc.

Re: Arrow Films
Edit: Problem solved - I was looking in the wrong spot for the missing footage, see dwk's post below.
Has anybody else received their replacement disc from the ZFE exchange? I just got mine in today, and I hate to say it, but the footage still isn't at the end. The credits roll until 1:31:15 and then it just goes back to the main menu. Trying with the different titles, I did get it to have 2 seconds of black before going to the menu (so the films lasts until 1:31:17), but there isn't any boat after the credits.
I assume there must have been a mixup at the Arrow office. Anybody else have this problem? Did I do something wrong? (just went to scene selection and then fast forwarded to the end credits and waited). Does the replacement disc look or say anything different than the previous one? As far as I can tell, the two discs are identical - thus that could further prove the mixup theory.
edit-
Unless I have the two mixed up, the two discs have different serial/letters. Below where it says Disc 1:
Original: FCD704B/A
Replacement: FCD704/A

Re: Arrow Films
Thanks dwk for clearing that up (along with the Demy thing, you've been bringing a lot of good news today!)
I just double checked, and yes the replacement disc is correct- (the original disc skips right to the boat, while the replacement disc shows the boat entering the frame and continues on).
For some reason (blame my memory of not having seen this for about 8 years) - I seemed to recall that the empty boat showed up at the very end - after the end credits (thus bringing things full circle). I now realize that I must have been mistaken about this point.
Apologies to Arrow and anyone who I might have caused grief (people scurrying to check their replacement discs).

Re: Arrow Films
I just got my replacement disc in the mail today. I checked the discs and the issue is indeed corrected. I mention that because the code on my original (flawed) disc, part of the Steelbook set, is different...Minkin wrote:Unless I have the two mixed up, the two discs have different serial/letters. Mondo Digital on Knightriders:
I've had a sneak preview myself, and I'm very happy to endorse this.Jump ahead to 2013, with a dual-format release in the UK from Arrow containing Blu-Ray and DVD discs. The HD transfer (bearing the MGM logo) is a pretty shocking revelation, finally fixing the flesh tones and looking much crisper and slicker than one might have imagined from prior transfers and grubby theatrical prints. The optical printing for the opening credits means the first couple of minutes still look a little dupier than the rest of the film but 98% of it looks quite amazing under the circumstances.

Re: Arrow Films
Looks like Arrow will be releasing Roger Corman's The Fall of the House of Usher. A postcard for the film is included with at least some copies of their recent Baise-moi. I wonder if this is also one of the Vincent Price titles Scream Factory was able to get from MGM?

Re: Arrow Films
No great surprise, given that they've already licensed the AIP versions of at least three Mario Bava films (Black Sunday, Black Sabbath, Baron Blood).

I don't think it was mentioned here yet, but another postcard turned up awhile ago for Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)

Appears to be yet another announcement with no Academy titles.

Re: Arrow Films
Sucks, but I can't really blame them as they seem to do well with their horror/cult/trash/erotica stuff.

I'm not sure what a reboot entails in this context.Arrow wrote:We're rebooting Academy in Q4, some VERY exciting announcements to come, lips sealed for now but we'll have some updates soon...
Arrow Academy fans will be sure to find things to like in this Arrow Video announcement as well

Re: Arrow Films
Well I guess what they mean is just that they haven't done any Academy titles for a while but they will in Q4 - not relly a "reboot", more of a re-start!Calvin wrote:I'm not sure what a reboot entails in this context.Arrow wrote:We're rebooting Academy in Q4, some VERY exciting announcements to come, lips sealed for now but we'll have some updates soon...

That "Arrow Academy fans will be sure to find things to like in this Arrow Video announcement as well" bit sounds interesting though. Maybe some horror that's more leaning towards the "classic" or "arthouse" - but maybe I'm hoping for too much...

Maybe it will be Body Double and then I won't have to buy the stupid Twilight Time.

Re: Arrow Films
Woah, don't go too crazy there Arrow.2k restoration for one title
I also don't understand the point of the ArrowDrome line. I know its supposed to be their budget line, but its not like you are breaking the bank with their non-Drome prices (6.99 for the Drome DVD Day of the Dead vs 9.99 for the 3 disc dual format with special features bluray - seems like Drome is a waste of time/effort).

Re: Arrow Films
Aside from the BFI, I can't think of too many British independent labels who do more than one in-house restoration per year, assuming that that's what they mean.Minkin wrote:Woah, don't go too crazy there Arrow.2k restoration for one title
