Sorry if this has been answered before, but why would someone choose NOT to buy from eureka's offers page...? The prices seem to be as low, if not lower, than the usual online retailer, free shipping, and pre-orders.

I don't understand why someone would buy from amazon etc., and not from eureka themselves.
And another thing: If you buy from Eureka, doesn't that mean that they get 100% of you cash? If you buy from another retailer, they get a percentage of the sale, right? Seems like you're supporting them "more" (however small amount more) by buying from them directly, though perhaps only financially?

Any suggestions/answers?

If one only wants to buy _one_ film Eureka has on sale -- and one wants to buy one or two non-Eureka films from Amazon, it might make sense to order from Amazon instead. If one is buying multiple Eureka releases (and have no current non-Eureka needs), then direct from Eureka would seem the only way to go. ;~}

If you're buying from the UK, Eureka are often more expensive than Play.com, The Hut, Amazon etc... it depends the item.. but at least in recent months they tend to be more pricey (at least for Blus)

Do not forget that MoC ships worldwide for free, making it undeniably cheaper more often that not for those of us in America, than Amazon.uk

That's only because all the others previously avoided VAT on Jersey. Eureka are on the UK mainland. All the others are having to suck it up now, which is why all the Blu-rays at Amazon seem to be about £17.00 on day one, instead of £13.99 or whatever.

Nope, the only reason for Amazon to charge £17 is that Play and HMV are not there anymore to need to pricematch them, even Moviemail is cheaper than Amazon now and that is telling a lot.

Bakumatsu taiyo-den is up for pre-order at Eureka's site. Spione is also available again.

Edited for clarity RE: Spione.

Spione isn't a reissue though in the sense of having a new transfer and/or extras, is it?

The other deals (that nobody mentioned before) are still up as well! Here's the info on that:
Our release of Spione is now back in stock, and ready for you to order! We've also reduced the prices on some of our Blu-ray releases, you can pick up For All Mankind, Pigs and Battleships, RoGoPaG, Coeur Fidele, Vengeance is Mine, The World and Wll Success Spoil Rock Hunter for only £9.99 each, we've also reduced the Cleopatra and Des Testament Des Dr Mabuse Steelbooks to just £12.99 each. This offer will run until the end of April.
RoGoPaG is indeed only 9.99, despite the website still saying its 12.99 (once its in your cart, its only 9.99). Only about nine hours left of the deal! So act quick.

Snagged Toni before Amazon.UK ran out, otherwise this would be mighty tempting.

That Toni deal is interesting, as that title's been out of print since 2011. I wonder if they've made another limited repressing as they did with Michael, or if they found a stash of them around the office. I know that Eureka tend to offer OOP titles with these deals, but the last two times that I recall were for DVDs that have been continuously available in the Eureka online shop (Prisoner of Shark Island and Scandal).

I emailed Eureka about this last week after noticing 'Toni' go up for sale on Amazon through Eureka's bestmediagroup seller profile. Kevin responsed that they'd had a box returned from Sony and that it's the original pressing.

I almost feel guilty getting all these free DVDs from Eureka. I was going to buy both those titles anyway!

I preordered them months ago elsewhere for less than Eureka are offering them for. It feels silly to cancel those and pay a few pounds more to get them now, but when that equates to basically paying a few pounds for 'Toni' it makes sense. At least it's money going direct to Eureka/MoC too, rather than a third party.

I've already got Toni, but I cannot resist the siren's song of free shit for buying things I already wanted. Plus, I like not paying shipping, and buying direct from Eureka is the most not paying of shipping I can do.

Agreed! And they always seem to offer these deals on payday, which makes it really hard for me to rationalize not taking advantage of them.

Also, thanks for the info, neilist. I hadn't noticed that Toni was available from bestmediagroup. I briefly considered just buying that, but with the £19.99 price tag plus shipping, it's just about $10 more to get the Sadao Yamanaka set and The Murderer Lives at 21!

For people in the business, how many's in a "box"? Are we talking only ten or twenty, or suddenly they've found another hundred?
