We don't have a general Fox thread, so I'll just throw this here: News Corp. to Rename Entertainment Assets 21st Century Fox

Well, I guess it's better than "Fox Group." They should have called it "Fox Skulk."

They'll just have to change it again in nine decades. What a lack of foresight.

I think it was Zero Mostel, when asked which film company he was
working for in the 1950s, said "18th century Fox".

Eventually, it'll be what's on Futurama.

Just so everyone's clear, it's only the parent company name that's changing. News Corp is splitting off into parts, and the entertainment wing is being renamed 21st Century Fox Inc. The studio itself (and thus the opening logo in front of films) will still be 20th Century Fox.

Bus Stop was always a no-brainer, no idea why it wasn't already in the Forever Marilyn Blu set

The Fly will be available at San Diego Comic Con and on FoxConnect.com during SDCC next week. Along with these:

They could make us buy the film again by including the KTL score. Well, some of us.

I had completely forgotten about the region free MoC Blu. Still, it is nice that at least one of the major studios is still releasing catalog titles on Blu-ray.

I saw Sunrise projected a few years ago with a score composed and performed by Matti Bye. I don't know if it would be possible for it to be included on the Blu but it would be a great addition.

Warner seems to be hellbent on just re-releasing Blu-rays (i.e. The Wizard of Oz, The Exorcist, All the President's Men, A Christmas Story, JFK)

They certainly do plenty of that, but they also released classic gangster films this year, have The Haunting lined-up, and of course I do hope all silent fans and more remember to pick up The Big Parade, which will hopefully encourage them to release more of the MGM back catalog! [-o<

Don't forget Warner also has the Samuel Goldwyn films, with Guys and Dolls and Hans Christian Andersen already released on Blu and The Best Years of Our Lives and The Bishop's Wife on their way.

As for Sunrise, while this seems late coming after MoC's fantastic Blu edition, it's good to finally see this movie getting a stand-alone release in this country. The DVD was only available as a mail-in freebee in the Studio Classics line, as part of the Studio Classics Best Picture box, and as part of the Murnau/Borzage at Fox set.

I guess you guys are right about Warner Brothers. Between the move to the MOD DVDs and the constant re-releases of Blu-rays of a few major catalog films, one can forget that they actually have been releasing new to Blu catalog titles.
