The Last Movie finally?
Nick just tweeted: Tried to get THE LAST MOVIE for MoC, a year or two before Hopper died. There was no HD master or inclination from the owners to make one.

Would love to think it that their hinting wasn't hyperbolic and we'd get something special, like a 100th anniversary edition of a rare silent, e.g. Der Student von Prag.

Which reminds me, for those who don't know yet: the newly restored 1913 "Student von Prag" will be shown on arte TV on April 16.

But it's not likely that MoC would have already gotten the rights for a release so soon. And of course a true 100th anniversary edition should include the two later versions as well. ;) But I wouldn't even expect such a release to come from Filmmuseum...

I rather think "Limite", "Finis Terrae" or "Page of Madness" are indeed likely choices.

I hope someone will be recording and delivering a beautiful rip over on KG, ala Mutter Krausens Fahrt ins Glück.

Hopefully Edition Filmmuseum will pick up the pace later this year, because their announced titles are truly mouthwatering.

Was wondering the same. People always seem to use GMT just to refer to what time it is in Britain, even though in summer it's incorrect.

MoC's tweeting has started! Always find this more exciting than Criterion's announcements.

Fair point. At least Birth of a Nation has vintage art, and looks better for it.

I'm just so happy Tabu has arrived...was worried it would be put to the side. Will pre-order that immediately. May even finally get a copy of Birth Of a Nation.

MoC on Twitter wrote:(1) We've pretty much finalized our schedule for the rest of 2013, but will be announcing our August/September titles in two months' time.

(2) A few weeks from now, we'll be announcing an incredibly exciting new acquisition which we'll be releasing theatrically at year's end and in The MoC Series at the beginning of 2014.
