Given that HTF is responsible for Fox's latest slate of mostly goddawful "Vote For It" Blu-ray titles, surely they can't be trusted-- though I'm not sure what the "right" answer is here!

I don't think you can lay all the blame for the Fox voting on the HTF - a great number of people joined up just to vote on those titles - specifically John Wayne nuts it would seem.

TT just said on their FB page that The Lion in Winter will be put on the back burner until a better master comes along. Smart move.

Matt, you're only allowed one guess per day, so your post is disqualified.

2) Title that Criterion should have gotten instead
3) Title that Arrow will release in a vastly superior edition 6 months later

Does HTF ever take their mouth off the dicks of all these studios and labels?

The clue for the first one is:
This film is set three decades prior to the year in which it was released.
So far we have 3 films suggested that legally fit the clue. The correct answer may be one of the three, and it may not...

La Bamba Released 87, about the 50's - From Columbia
Farewell My Lovely, Released 75 about the 40s - From ITC (British Production)
Mischief, Released 85, about the 50's - From Fox.

Further down that page they already revealed that it's La Bamba.

Yes, they already announced that the answer was La Bamba, but the guy who guessed it cheated by guessing more than once per day, so he "lost" the contest, in that his fake internet name was not mentioned in the title reveal. My favorite quote:
Our Thanks to Twilight Time for allowing us to play these games

Surefire signs that a game on a discussion board is going to be really fun:
Please keep discussion minimal.
The idea is to keep each of these games running as long as possible.

Someone came in and just started throwing off titles. The idea was to try to have the game go on a bit longer this time. I figured that clue would be obscure enough but perhaps not

They did this a long time back with Used Cars and it got guessed in 2 hours so it was over before most people even saw it. Is that fun?

OK, (3) is becoming a bit of a meme now, so it's probably worth stressing that there is at present just one overlap between Arrow's and Twilight Time's catalogues - and based on what I know of TT's upcoming slate and my behind-the-scenes knowledge of Arrow's 2014 lineup, that's the way it's going to stay for the foreseeable future.

Even in the event of future overlaps, it's far more likely that Arrow and TT will be working from the same master - The Fury was an unusual one-off situation where three labels with strong existing interests in Brian De Palma's work had the opportunity to fund a brand new transfer.

This is particularly rich coming from someone who still posts here yet goes on and on about how much we suck over at HTF. Spare us the superior attitude, turncoat
