Just to be clear, when someone on Facebook asked about the Lime Green extras, at first Twilight Time said "not sure about special features at this point - the release is a little ways off." Then the person said the extras were likely controlled by Lynch, and Twilight Time replied by saying "yes, we'll definitely be looking into it." So who knows what will happen.

The only reason TT has ever not had features on a release is due to studios not allowing it, or requesting ownership of produced extras.

If the materials are owned/supplied by Lynch I see zero reason they wouldn't use them if Lynch would like them to be had.

What exactly makes Nick Redman a film historian or expert on these films? The man comes across as a raging narcissist.

Nick has been studying film and making film documentaries for decades. He is eminently knowledgable.

Have you listened to one of his commentaries?

The same qualities, I imagine, that gives Dobbs those rights.

You say that as if those two things were mutually exclusive. If only.

Looking forward to that one! I find the classic 3D titles to be very interesting.

Two of my favorites. Jesus, I've never bought anything from these people before, I may have to break that embargo.

Part of me's upset at paying $35+ for Broadway Danny Rose, but the rest of me's just glad it made it to Blu-ray at all

Bad news. Both of these are likely to sell out quickly. It's $70-80 or never get them on blu-ray.

Can't think of for the life of me why Danny Rose wouldn't get a wider release. It's a joke, you know.

A cut of Manhunter on blu-ray plus two bonus features, including a middling Ridley Scott and a pretty good Jonathan Demme -- all for around $10 less than most Twilight Time editions.

None of those titles you list are at risk of selling out quickly Shell. Despite everyone over at Blu-ray.com's best efforts to stir up a panic over the this months new Harryhausen pre-orders, they're both still available nearly 2 weeks later, only just passing the half way mark recently. They were limited to 3 copies per order for the first 1,500, 2 copies now. I doubt any of yesterday's new announcements will move even that fast, apart from maybe Wild at Heart (and even then, that's only if it turns out to be significantly better than the Region B discs in the extras department).

The main thing is those titles are going to be priced $30+ and they really don't have to be (Esp since a title like Danny Rose won't have any extras). Other boutique labels would be happy to the issue them at a lower price point. Heck, MGM (Fox) should be packaging its WA films and releasing them as a set.

TTs deal with MGM is brand new, so other boutique labels have had years to secure some Allen films from them. No one has. So er, yes, maybe they do have to be priced more than you would expect. I agree that MGM should be putting these films out instead, and I find it strange that they are not considering they've already released four catalogue Allen titles. But then, that applies to all studios, doesn't it? If MGM, Fox and Sony were more invested in releasing their back catalogues on BD, TT wouldn't exist.

Most new titles list around $30 - you just don't pay that because retailers mark them down.

if TT sold to more than one retailer then you'd probably see prices under $30, but it's not like their prices as listed are so far off what other companies are doing. These complaints are so old and have been explained so many times at this point.

Well, that's basically the whole problem. If we could get the discs for $15-20 there would be drastically fewer complaints about pricing, even if the "list price" remained the same. People are complaining about a $30 list price plus shipping precisely because it's not the same as when most other labels list something at $30.

TT titles are also sold through the TCM store. Perhaps there will hope for discounted releases yet.
