GREAT episode. Not so much for any big moments as for lots of small ones.

Let us not forget the wonderful words of Boyd either. "Put your foot down Dewey Crowe!"

That whole pep talk was another example of Boyd's effortless awesomeness.

Looks like he and Raylan will share some screen time next week, along with a welcome Gutterson sighting.

The best part of that speech was how he did it with so much conviction while looking tired and irritated and the same time. He couldn't have meant it less and it couldn't have been more convincing.

What a freakin' episode. This is the best season since we left the Bennetts.

Add "lethal badass" to the list of things Alan Tudyk can do with ease.

You weren't kidding. That's one of the best episodes of the series. Just the arc it took Boyd through, from the very top, controlling everything around him with chilling ease, to the very bottom, screaming hysterically. And everything else was on point, too. It was great scene after great scene. Easily my favourite show on television right now.

I came in here ready to declare this one of the greatest episodes in the history of the series and I see that all of you have beat me to the punch! Oh my God. Not a single wasted moment, characters double-crossing and scheming and maneuvering but not forgetting to be clever, verbose, quotable, and true to character. And so many shocking acts of violence that I literally yelled out "Holy shit!" twice over the course of a mere hour. This is an episode to put in a time capsule and explain to future generations how we all used to have a show this wonderful.

And we got what must be the single greatest Boyd Crowder line ever:

In case anyone's curious, that huge gun at the end was a fully automatic shotgun.

Matt Zoller Seitz's premonitions/dread based on Alan Arkin directing the episode seems to carry weight. And we've got an early contender for episode title of the season.

I thought it was an excellent episode, but I think "Decoy" from last season was better.

"Decoy" is a great episode, I can't argue with preferring it, but that felt like the Justified movie we were never going to get, while "Shot All to Hell" is just the show doing everything it does best on a weekly basis as good as it's ever been done and without stopping

Great episode, indeed. I especially enjoyed the fact that Art got a chance to shine. My one quibble was
Spoiler
how easily HR's men turned on him. Johnny splits his take from the heist three ways, and that's enough to get these henchmen to betray a longtime player in favor of an outcast? I know that low-level criminals in Justified can be stupid, but that seems especially short-sighted for that crew. Jay (Wood Harris's character) had a lot of faith in his boss earlier, when Raylan and HR met for the face-to-face.

Two really stellar episodes in a row.

It's almost like they're pre-compensating us for skipping next week.

Not as explosive as last week's episode (tho' what would be?), but full of interesting twists. The continued success of this show is because it doesn't make it easy on itself. There were any number of options to return things to an easy status quo, yet it continues to pile on the difficulties for its characters.

Also: "con...con...con...consexual...?" had me in tears.
