These SME releases look very good value. Have I missed a trick by not picking these up? Where is the best place to shop for these to get them to the UK?

I heartily recommend the two Havetta discs. His films remind me of Jakubisko's work - lyrical, surreal, warm and earthy. I think I got mine at gorila.sk or dvdbest.sk. Shipping to the U.S. was reasonable, and the discs themselves were very inexpensive.

I think I still have some extra copies of quite a few of those SME DVDs - feel free to PM me, if you're interested.

Why are these being reposted now? Haven't they been out for years?

So why muffle the impact by mostly posting old releases?

I meant the SME ones. I really appreciate keeping up with the new releases (thanks for your posts!) and genuinely thought these might be reissues or something.

I haven't bought anything from Slovakia in five or six years (and at the time I even had a Slovakian co-worker to translate). Anyone have an opinion on the best site for importing to the US? I don't suppose there's one that sells Czech discs, too?

I've been very happy with DVD Best - their packaging in particular could stop a tank.

And I've also bought Czech discs from them - but I don't know if they ship to the US.

They do. Their shipping charge is a little pricey, but I'm not aware of a preferable alternative (other than waiting to place an order until it's big enough to absorb some of the shipping cost).

Well we've been seeing an uptick in armored vehicles on the streets over here these days, so I guess this is the one to go with.

Michael's right, DVDBest's packaging is notoriously impenetrable-- forget stopping tanks, it's probably what they wrap airplane black boxes in
