I don't always have my movies displayed, but when I do I put the closed side of the box sets facing outward, as it seems more visually pleasing. Why do you have it that way? (Just curious)

I typically have them closed side out as well. I only took the picture that way to show how I was able to get the individual digis to look.

Ok, the zig zag effect of the spines is really bizarre, I actuall prefer the strong box and keep cases like the Boro set and Mizoguchi.

In case it wasn't clear, Criterion designed the spines on the digipak too wide so they don't fit in the box if they're all flattened like they do for other Criterion box sets (example). So it's either the clean zigzag or every digi pointing any which way, unless you want to perform surgery on them like stagefright50 did.

My Paul Robeson box does that zig-zag effect. I thought it was just some kind of manufacturing defect, but could it be that box is too small if the digipacks had flat spines?

I've always had spines zig-zagging for this type of boxsets (BBS, Rossellini/Bergman, Qatsi, Pasolini, etc). Usually, I pull on the front cover so that the front and the back cover are symmetrical and flatten the spine, and it does the job.

I'm thus quite surprised the same can't be done on the Tati digis.

Yes, individual digis in these sets usually come that way and can be straightened out, but for the Tati box there just isn't room. This is an exaggeration, but imagine trying to fit two slices of pizza into a cereal box.

I like all of these, actually, especially Don't Look Now. Captures the feel (and period) of the film pretty well, IMHO. It would look nice as a digipack.

Is there a particular reason that A Day in the Country isn't listed among the titles in Criterion's "Coming Soon" section? That, alone, made the month for me, but I'm wondering if it may have been ultimately pushed back?
