Re: Twilight Time
I was going to make a joke about how today would be a good chance to simulate in slow motion the steps necessary to get one of those free autographed Blu-rays, but then even La Bamba sold out within 2 minutes!

Re: Twilight Time
Weird, yeah it looks like they forgot to apply a rec709 curve or something. Feels like ungraded LOG footage out of a digital cinema camera.

Twilight Time will no longer offer any of its promotional signed copies on pre-order days to "facilitate more people having a fairer chance to obtain one". Consequently, Susan Swift signed copies of Audrey Rose are going free with qualifying orders Wed 3rd 4pm EST.

Re: Twilight Time
What does that mean, there'll still be free giveaways but just not on pre-release availability days?

Re: Twilight Time
Barring last month, they would always do the free copies at the same time that month's new pre-orders would go up. As demonstrated by Che and La Bamba, promotional copies that are timed with the new pre-orders always go stupidly fast, whilst those that aren't go much slower. So yes there will still be regular promo copies, but they will now just be done whenever, rather than when new pre-orders go up.

Whoops the Bride Wore Black is a great cover. I'm sure they'll correct this soon by swapping a booklet cover with Blingee accouterments or something though

I guess that Purple Rose cover is from a French poster, so thanks for not photoshopping out a purple mess Twilight Time, but no thanks? I like the concept, but the execution (by the original artist, not TT) makes it look like a horror film.

A label finally makes the dream of using polish poster art for a cover come true and it's TT of all people. Go figure.

Re: Twilight Time
Their plan worked. It's been almost 24 hours, and you can still get an autographed copy of Audrey Rose. I think this is definitely better system, except for those people who buy the horror titles that sell out quickly.EddieLarkin wrote:Twilight Time will no longer offer any of its promotional signed copies on pre-order days to "facilitate more people having a fairer chance to obtain one". Re: Twilight Time
I'm ordering Breaking Away and Fright Night for sure - two of my favourite films that I'm glad I've held out for special editions of.
I'd like to know though whether "Road To Adulthood" on Breaking Away is a new bonus feature or just the identically-titled TV spot that's on the Fox DVD? I imagine it's the TV spot, in which case another one ("Academy Booster") is missing! Not the end of the world as I'm sure Dennis Christopher will have a ton of interesting stories on the commentary though.

Re: Twilight Time
That's a strong lineup for March/April. Half of the releases are on my most wanted Blu-ray list: The Bounty, The Remains of the Day, The Story of Adele H., U-Turn and Richard III.

Does this mean TT landed all the MGM Truffaut titles Criterion hasn't released already?

Re: Twilight Time
Why would it mean that? And I doubt it considering The Wild Child was a strong contender for one of the clues from the last New Years drawing.

Re: Twilight Time
I hope Criterion did acquire The Wild Child over a year ago and it has just been delayed. But since this is the second one TT is releasing and CC has a sizable backlog of former Fox Lorber Truffaut titles on Hulu, it just feels like TT probably has the rest of the non-Antoine Doinel MGMs, or at least the ones except Wild Child. If CC didn't get The Bride Wore Black, it seems less likely that they'd have Mississippi Mermaid.

I think TT has said they only have two of MGM's Truffauts.

Re: Twilight Time
I almost typed that last night, but wasn't trusting my memory. Best I could come up with last night was a few Truffauts. I also almost typed last night that The Wild Child clue was much more likely for Macbeth.
