Nah, all they do is talking about work. What is it with people talking about work when at work ?!mteller wrote:Or you could talk to your colleagues, you anti-social weirdo.tenia wrote:When I'm eating with 8 colleagues on a table made for 6 persons, I could read the booklets, but I can't read the foldout posters.

All great covers? Even a good Chaplin cover?! Did I fall and hit my head?

Great month. Though there's something Gilliam animation about the gun in State of Seige. I haven't seen the film... maybe it's all cut-out animation.

The violent abstraction of The Confession's artwork is really appealing, and I can't wait to see the interior/booklet/leaflet treatment.

I actually feel like the Costa-Gavras covers are going for something that's much more Eastern European, but they're failing... Unless those are versions of the original Polish posters and they're just never featured in books or shows because they're the ugly stepchildren of that aesthetic. Anyway, very happy to have these films.

Re: Limelight--the portrait of Chaplin is indeed marvelous, but the "spooning C's" seem a bit hinky to me.

It's better than attempting to use the Wacky C as the C in Charles. I'm surprised they were able to control themselves.

The one I find really impressive is State of Siege. Something to it that really reminds me what Criterion can do design-wise.

Limelight cover's color scheme reminds me of To Be or Not to Be cover for some reason. Fairly surprised with The Rose...the song started playing in my head.

You guys missed one thing, the most important and the best thing about this month's announcement. There will be a booklet for Make Way for Tomorrow. They are not replacing it with leaflet!

Re: Criterion & Eclipse Cover Art & Packaging Babble-on Vol.
Agreed. Both are absolutely stunning. The Chaplin is actually very appealing for a change, and while I have zero interest in owning The Rose, the cover captures the essence of the film splendidly. A grand slam of new additions.Cinephrenic wrote:Nice month. The Costas are killer!

I just had Spirit of the Beehive arrive from amazon, and was surprised to see it wasn't a digipak. When was it repackaged?
