Re: Awards Season 2015
One of my favorite pre-show details is Brie Larson weeping when she saw these 'bots, so despite my indifference to Star Wars, this feels right.

Doing the math, Fury Road I believe is already the only film that can win as many as the 6 it already has, so it's the "big winner" of the night by overall wins already.

I fear that the appeal of the Minions remains beyond me.

Silly slapsticky humor. Not much to contemplate. It either works for you or it doesn't.

Seemed almost perverse to have them introduce World of Tomorrow.Brian C wrote:I fear that the appeal of the Minions remains beyond me.

You mean one of them farting in a thong while they recognized Hertzfeldt's subtle and painful life's work was in bad taste?

So, it takes 2.5 hrs and a regular/everyday/non-celeb person in Compton to speak up for other non-black ethnic minorities...

One of the only people who saw By the Sea was a black woman in Compton?

Stallone was robbed. So was Ruffalo. So was Hardy. I loved Bridge of Spies but come the heck on.

Re: Awards Season 2015
It's not the worst thing to happen at the Oscars in recent years, but that performance didn't stand out and was largely not part of the film for a good hour and a half.

Re: Awards Season 2015
Because Rylance is mostly a non-flashy performer I'm happy to see him win because he just rarely gets work that is noticed by awards.
Stallone does have a non-acting Oscar at least. Hardy will have many more nominations, as will Ruffalo in all likelihood.

Got to admit the first time I saw the trailer, I thought it was Elias Koteas.
